help with nav bars

This is what my nav bar looks like right now..




1. NOTICE that the nav menus are far from each other right?..how to make it with no spaces?..so it will be aligned?


2. The background the my nav menus is kinda like light gray..right?..i want to change it..but i dunno where to find it in CSS...what it's name on CSS pls?
