Host changing

Hello

I want to ask you a question.

We can change our host from phpBB to MyBB or SMF. And, if i'm not wrong, Forumotion uses phpBB too. So, can we upgrade our forums from phpBB to MyBB or SMF?

In Forumotion you can change your forums version but you can't do anything other than whats Forumotion gives us.
