I am in need of assistance!!!

My forum is in need of assistance the width of it should be able to see the last post from people and now you cannot see some of it because of the navbar pictures so I've tried alot of ways to try to fix it look up posts but no so now i'm in need of assistance. I just want my forum to have a normal width of 100% or 75% anywhere in between there I don't mind so can someone help me with this.

To change your forum's width, Navigate :

Admin Panel >

General tab >

Forum -- Configuration >

Scroll down to the Pages Structure section, and modify your forum's width via percentage. Save the new settings.

No that doesn't work it stays the same no matter what percent.

Have you fooled around with the CSS templates ? If so, go back to it and change it from there.

No I haven't can you tell me where to find a tutorial or info about changing stuff.

Edit: I changed my forum so it won't look so oversized but i still need that question because i dont know how to change the size of the navbar to make it have 2 lines instead of one long one extending all the way to make the forum giant and can't see the posts.
