Turning Off Flood Control

Post by FuntCucking on July 12th 2009, 12:34 pm

Hello,

How do I turn of flood control? It is annoying my members, when I go to the flood control box on my ACP, and change it to '0', and save it, it just goes back to 10. I read the tutorial for flood control, and even when I leave the box blank, or change it to '0', it just goes back to 10 when I save it.

If it is not possible to turn of flood control then that proves that the service you offer is very very poor. As an administrator, I feel being forced to have my members wait 10 seconds between each post they make shocking, it should be my choice wether I have flood control on my forum or not.

No wonder you don't give back-ups, because if you did, i'm sure nearly all forumotion users would be moving to proffesional hosting, or at least a forum host which has the default phpbb3 admin panel.

Thanks

Is 10 seconds a minimum for the flood control?

If it doesn't say you can turn it off then you cant. its to reduce spamming, i believe.

FuntCucking you are very rude I may say. The flood control prevents a spam attack. You can't take it down as its part of the Security of your forum and Forumotion. I also say if you don't like Forumotion leave and find another host if you need help with that I can show that door.

If you gave me a back-up I would most certainatly leave. I'm not starting again though. I should have the right to remove flood control from my forum if I want to, i'm the administrator of the forum and the decision should be mine.

If you were so bothered about spam attacks then you'd have an option to delete all of a users posts via the ACP.

I know! I'm the one who suggested it with my other account. But the techies here are too lazy to even do anything.

Exactly, it'll be rejected because the techies are so damn lazy. What the fuck do they get paid for? I'm so close to leaving forumotion.
