Word Censoring Not Working

I have created a long list of censord words but it's not removing them when somebody types them in

Could be that they entered (in example) "test" as a word, but they've put it combined with another character so that it appears as "test." in which case the filter wouldn't catch it. If that's the case, you would add the "*" to words and that would remove them whether it is "test" or "test.". If that isn't the problem, then a screenie would really help.
