You will just have to let us know if this continues. Sometimes it could just be a glitch or temporary connection problems that usually work themselves out.

I am from Nucky's forum and one of the administrators. This problem has been going on almost since we formed about a month ago. I am one of the members having problems staying connected. It seems to happen at least 5 times per day and most often between 5PM and 7PM (GMT-7), but can happen at any time. I did have problems as recently as yesterday. Over a quarter of our membership have mentioned simular problems.

Well, the problem went away for about 2 to 3 weeks and we thought it resolved. But, it has reappeared today and affected a few of our members, including me.

Nope, just a blank page appears. It is the same for all our members regardless of computer, internet connector or continent.

I've been having a similar problem since April, my other admin is having the same problem intermittant but to me it happens all day every day i can post a couple of messages then i am logged out, i cannot log back in until i have reset my modem, i've tried clearing cookies, cashe, browsing history and refresh nothing works other than reseting my modem and even then i still only get a couple of posts done and i'm logged out again, admin panel is no better i can only acheive a couple of tasks and i get logged out, this is really becoming a problem to administer the forum as it takes me nearly all day just to delete a few posts or create new forums or add news to our newsletter please can you get this sorted out

Members trying to post - only to be kicked and given the Logout screen

Post by Xedanis on Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:47 pm

Our forum http://circle.darkbb.com has just started and already we're encountering problems of this nature and we need technician intervention.

I as well as other members, and the Admin of the site too have tried several different remedies to no avail, please help as soon as possible as the site is used as a storytelling forum!

Thanks

This is the first time it's happened since you requested it. I pressed F5, but I still got a blank page. I closed the forum site and tried to re-enter, but all I get is the blank page, indicating it is offline.

It just happened, while I was about to edit a post. There were 4 others online at the time as well.

Okay, several minutes later and my forum is still offline. Is one of the servers having problems again?

By now we all know that a server is down or worse. It has been over 3 hours since my forum went offline and others have been offline for over 5 hours.

My site is small too; both specialized and only 2 months old. In addition, we are not fully constructed and only just this week began to link up and do our meta tags. This is horrible timing for us. We are in the process of launching officially.

But there is nothing we can do; and I have not seen any administators or moderators come on to this site in all this time. I can only hope that someone has notified them of this problem.

Trying to connect and all I see is a white screen?!!!

Post by Xedanis on Thu Jul 10, 2008 12:35 am

I believe that the servers are all down - multiple people have posted problems of exactly the same nature as my own;

When i open the address of either forum i made on forumotion, either http://circle.darkbb.com or http://darkangelsanctuary.darkbb.com, all that happens is a white screen.

There is no problem with my computer. There is nothing wrong with my internet settings, there is nothing on my end blocking access to either of my forums. Everything is exactly as it has been since the forums were started - the dark angel's sanctuary is the oldest and I have never experienced any problems with it. Further to this it is not limited to my computer - all of our members for both forums are experiencing the same problem of trying to access the forum and complaining of seeing nothing but a blank screen.

Obviously this is extremely counterproductive as the Circle forum is used a lot, and the Sanctuary is my own "online home", both are very important tools.

For your reference i've linked to the thread where a substantial amount of other people have listed the same problem, and as always I ask for a speedy solution as we have a large membership on the Enchanted FireCircle, and we have just transferred to this site from our older, outmoded host because of problems identical to this!

Thankyou.

for the first time in months i have been able to stay logged in for more than a few minutes, in fact i've been logged in for over half an hour, does this mean the problem has been resolved? if so thank the Lord for that and thank you to the techs for finally resolving it!!
EDIT:
Scratch that last comment, i just got logged out .....again

That is a different problem that a few of us have been having. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and deleting any cookies?

It solved the problem for me and several others here.

As for the forums being offline which is what this thread is about; they installed a new server several days ago and things have been great ever since. Lol

sorry Melodiccolor but i beg to differ what this thread is about, this is the original post:

this is exactly my problem and no amount of clearing cashes, browsing history or cookies solves it, thanks for trying to advise but i think this needs a tech to solve the problem and so far no one has come up with a solution Confused

I agree both problems have to do with staying connected. But by joining two separate problems into one thread, you run the risk of the techs not realising there are 2 separate problems.

Nucky started the thread at my request; our forum hadn't been up and running very long at the time. I came in and gave more detail; getting blank pages when disconnected at least 5 times a day for over a month. That problem is resolved with the new server or so it seems.

Your problem is still ongoing and deserves to be focused on separate from the white page problem.

I did write on several other threads about this, thinking that it would eventually get picked up, no such luck, but, today, purely by accident, i discovered that a web accelerator that was downloaded at approx the same time as my problem started was not working properly, i have since deleted it from my computer and my problem has gone, so a word of advice to others with this same problem, (constantly getting logged out) if you have a web accelerator on your computer, get rid of it, it only works for the domain you downloaded it from anyway and slows up the rest of your computer as well as causing this problem, if anyone cares to try this and let me know if it worked for you i'd be grateful

Sorry to add here but I had the problem on not being able to stay logged on about a month ago. It improved but two days ago it started again!
Same thing I think as described here. Keeps logging me off when I tried to see new posts (which then do not come up as new!) or when I try to administer the forum.

But at my request, my partner is getting in here as me because I can't while at home. I am at the library just to see if this issue without connection to my site can be resolved. I am afraid not to have connection for the entire weekend and this has been going on 3 days without hearing from someone and/or getting it solved. I did everything that was suggested to me and that I could possibly think of. Restarted, rebooted, called apple, comcast, turned off and disabled proxies, tried them all. Even checked with 2 servers, cleared my cache, history, cookies and more. Ran virus scans, turned them on and off. Asked other members what they see and they all can get into my realfreestuffforall.com site just fine, as well as my other site.... rfsfa2.com All forumotions I cannot access on my own computer. I am praying someone gets to this urgent matter asap! I undertand many forumotion website members are having difficulties with this issue as well. I just don't want to lose future members, or get hacked into while away, plus I just need to manage my board which I do daily.

Is there anyway of getting contact details as, once again I own my site and searched on the interent for some sort of contact. All I can do is ask my partner to hopefully reach someone or use the library computer, which I get only 1 hrs. for.

Please email me because I will have to go thru my partner otherwise and she is not always available.

Thank you
