Personalized Profile fields / Warning System

What are personalized profiles?
Personal profiles are fields that can be added to the mini profile like the name, location and total post count. It can be anything you want, from having a points field, to a warning field.
Where do i find this option?
Go into the admin panel and further to "Users & Groups / Users / Profiles". At the bottom of the profile list you will see a link that says, create a personalised profile, click it.
How do i make a Personalized Profile from there on?
The first thing you will be asked to do after clicking the link is to choose what type of field you want to create. The options are as follows:
Plain text
This option will allow youthe addition of any text typing in the field, numerical or alphabetical, to your sites profiles/miniprofiles
Enriched text
This option will allow the addition of plain text and html coding to your sites profiles/miniprofiles.
Contact text
This option will allow the addition of email/skype/msn etc to your sites profiles/miniprofiles
Date text
This option will allow the addition of any sort of date to your sites profiles/miniprofiles
URL text
This option will allow the addition of any URL to your sites profile/miniprofile
Image Text
This will allow the addition of an image to your sites profile/miniprofile
An Element among a list
This will allow you to create a drop down list in the profile that members can use to select one of the options to be displayed in the miniprofile. You must add a word or sentace per line for this to work. This could be extra ranks, or a type of music genre that they like. Use your imagination!
An image among a list of preset images
This allows you to do the same as the element among a list, but with images. For this to work you must ad the URL to each image, one per line.
A Bar
This allows you to dislay a bar in members profile that can be modified. Good for warning systems or reputation. You must set this to have a minimum value and a maximum value. You can also set it to have a default value, For example you could set minimum to 1 and maximum to 10 for a warning profile field. If a member gets 5 warnings you are able to modify their bar in their profile and it will then show half the bar filled.
For every profile option you must give it a name and a description. You can then choose wether this field has to be filled, where it is displayed and whom has permsission to modify it in the profile.
Creating a Warning System.
I am going to give you an example of how to make a personlized profile warning system using the bar field option.
Step 1
In "Admin Panel / Users & Groups / Users / Profiles", click the "create personalized profile" link.
Step 2
Choose the bar from the drop down menu.
Step 3
Give your profile option a name: warning. Give it a description: Warning system. Set the minimum value to 0. Set the maximum to 100. Set the default value to 0. Choose no for 'does this field have to be filled. Set display options to: This field is displayed in writers’s profile and in the members’s profile page. Set 'who can modify profile field' to admin. If you have filled it in correct it should now look like the screen shot below.
Step 4
Hit save. It will tell you your field has been added.
Step 5
Go back to the index page of your forum and click any members post. You should now see in their posting profile the warning bar you created like the screen shot below.
Step 6
Click the members profile button below their post and you will see in the bottom right, the ability to modify the warning bar as you can see in the screen shot below. Set it to 50 and click modify.
Step 7
Come back to the members post and you should see the bar half filled. Well done you now have a warning system!
The personalized profile feature allows you to create almost anything you want. Dont be afraid to experiment as it can always be deleted if it doesnt work, by going to admin, general, profile and clicking the red delete cross by the profile option.
