Permissions
You can set up permissions in 3 levels on Editbaord
- At the level of forums
- At the level of usergroups
- At the level of users
Which are the forum permissions?
For each forum you create, you must modify the permissions according of what you wish.
There are 2 kinds of controls : the simple permissions and the advanced permissions. You switch from one to another by clicking on the link at the bottom of the window

They allow you to choose predefined permissions rapidly
- Read : All , Write : Registered
- Read : All , Write : Private
- Read : All , Write : Moderators
- Read : All , Write : Administrators
- Read & Write : Registered
- Read & Write : Registered [Hidden]
- Read & Write : Private
- Read & Write : Private [Hidden]
- Read & Write : Moderators
- Read & Write : Moderators [Hidden]
- Read & Write : Administrators
- Read & Write : Administrators [Hidden]
Advanced permissions

They allow you to define permissions for each kind of action
- View : Allows you to define who can see the forum heading on the index page
- Read : Allows you to define who can read the messages inside a forum
- Post : Allows you to define who can post new topics in a forum
- Reply : Allows you to define who can reply to an existing topic
- Edit : Alloww you to define who can edit their own messages (Notice : this function doesn't allow people to edit other members's messages)
- Delete : Allows you to define who can delete their own messages
- Sticky : Allows you to define who can create a sticky
- Announce : Allows you to define who can create an annoucement
- Vote : Allows you to define who can vote to an existing poll
- Create poll : Allows you to define who can create polls
For each one of these functions, you will have the choice between :
- All : Everyone, even the visitors (not registered) wil have access to this function
- Members : Registration is required to have access to this function
- Groups : Being a member to an allowed group is required to have access to this function
- Moderators : Being moderator of this forum is required to have access
- Admin : Only the admin have access
How to modify the forum permissions ?
To modify the permissions of a forum or sub-forum :
Admin panel => Forum => Management => Permissions

Here you'll have a quick over view of the permissions of your forums
Click on the forum name => At the bottom, you can modify the permissions.
What are the group permissions?
To give a group the access to a forum or not, the forum must be on Group.
Then, you will be able to choose, group by group, which are the allowed and disallowed accesses. As well as for forum permissions, there is a simple mode and an advanced mode.
How to modify the permissions of a group?
To modify the permissions of a group :
Admin Panel => User Admin & Group Admin => Group Admin
Choose on Actions: Permissions

Click on Permissions right from the group name => then you access the permissions control panel of the selected group
(Click at the bottom of the permission board, on Advanced mode/Simple mode to change mode)
What are the user permissions ?
If a forum is on private, you can set, member by member, the permissions, even if the member is not in a group.
How to modify the permissions of a member ?
To modify the permissions of a member :
Admin panel => User Admin & Group Admin => User Admin => Permissions

Type the user's name in the appropriate field => Then you access the permission control panel of the selected user
(Click at the bottom of the permissions board, on Advanced mode/Simple mode to change mode)
Note: Ths is where you mae a user an Admin. When on a users personal settings, you define his User Leval as Admin
Note that you also have Special users, which gives you a quick over view of users who have special permissions
