HITSKIN SITE DOWN LOSS OF ALL ICONS

omg i just logged into the site and all the icons chevrons are missing after i cleared the internet explorer cache is it because the hotskins server is down or are you working on the theme and have pulled it down temp, little bit worried :|

I went to hitskin.com and the site is down i am new to this site i wonder does it happen often, i am thining maybe i should host this theme somewhere else i dont like it when it all goes missing.

hold on, if you use a skin from Hitskin and hitskin goes down the images on your site are effected?

well even personal accounts goes down sometimes .. mine did b4 , just wait and the server will work.

It seem you are wrong kilsek ...it is not hitskin thats having problems.
It seems servimg is having a bit of down time. servimg is teh service provider for images on hitskin.

I don't know what servimg is doing but they could be changing servers or expanding. If i get a full report i'll pass it on

They are all one part but has its own space. In other words people from other areas of life may enjoy them

(apologies for bumb, but it is down again today!)

Frag's guide to how to avoid this problem:

A) If you do not use your own theme, proceed to B
B) Save your menu-bar icons and important icons such as those next to boards to your computer
C) Go into your administration panel
D) Go to display>Picture management
E) Upload and use the same pictures from your PC to the relevant slots.

Then, when hitskin does go down, your forums will not be completely iconless and can be ok til it gets back, since the icons are now hosted directly on your forum. If you have time, do this with all your icons.

It's only temporarily down anyway.

HitSkin is offline. You can check that.

Go to Start -- > Run -- > Type "cmd" ( withpout ") and press Enter

In MS-DOS type "ping www.hitskin.com" (without " )

Request timed out

my site just went through this and i was freaking out, but my icons are back now. Refresh your browser, and hope it works..

well there are still a few forums having problems with this

it has been doing this more and more,
is there anything I can do to change it back to just one button as opposed to two, or is it just a waiting game?

What i think is happening is that they have changed the images over or have moved the url,

The double text only happens when you leave the box for the image url empty in the headers and navigation sections

When the image url is replaced with a different url it seems to work as normal and the text shows normally
