proof:
A
B - proof for dummies
C
D + review from cnet... it doesn't get better then this
E - firfox 1,0 is worse then IE7
F - will IE8 beat FF3?
G - how much CPU usage is used
H - something for developers... this blog makes no sense to me
I maybe forbes will change your mind

Listen spook i'm not trying to be a menace... i am seriously passionate about FF. Oh and just to let you know... i typed into google:
"internet explorer is better than firefox" and the first couple headers confirmed it... after ward the headers automatically changed to why FF is better then IE.

I think you should give FF a proper try, on a neutral basis. Don't install FF saying that its pathetic, cos you'll get nothing out of the test. test it for about a week or 2. check out security and the add-ons.

from the material above i read that FF is far better on a daily basis , for normal people. IE takes over if you are a developer or something of that sort. But other then that microsoft is not really putting much into IE... apart from stealing ideas from FF forums and development area.

So give FF a proper chance...
i dont want silly reviews or what other people says

just a simple question, as i don't really want to argue about this...what program(s) do you use to check if you've got spywares, trojans and such ?

As usual - you are wrong.
Spyware/Malware can be gotten in numerous ways - even to the extent of installing a legitimate application. And if you really think Nortons will keep Spyware/Malware off your system you have another thing coming.

But don't let far more experienced users tell you anything. Go on in your own way. Happy computing! jocolor

But isn't that mean IE is not suitable to allll kind of people?
It does not helping to prevent spywares UNLESS the user knows that the website is harmful.

What if they accidently open a harmful website using IE, they will get spywares. scratch
But if they accidently open a harmful website using FireFox, they are still safe.. groar

Most of them then will throw IE in FIRE.

There is an astonishing amount of misinformation on these forums by people who really have no clue about computers.

Firefox is not inherently safer than IE, when intelligent and informed users select the proper options in either FF's Options or IE's Tools menu. IE happens to be more of a target for attacks because there are certain vulnerabilities that can be exploited by people with extensive experience in hacking. Your 15 year old wannebee hacker who hangs around hacking and warez sites is not going to have those skills. FF just happens to be less so. Properly setup, IE can be reasonably safe to use, IF you also have a suite of spyware and virus scanners running. A virus scanner alone will not protect you from picking up spyware and/or malware. That is simply a fact. Whether or not you (generic YOU) choose to acknowledge that fact is entirely up to you as an individual. The fact is that NO browser will or has the ability to protect you from spyware on its own, no matter what kinds of websites you frequent. For that, you need a program like SpywareBlaster, Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware 2007, or another of the 4 or 5 programs known to work most of the time. Better yet - use at least two - one that runs continually in the background to prevent spyware ever getting loaded (like SpywareBlaster) and one that requires manual execution. Knowledge of a program like HiJack This can help you find trojans or other bad boys lurking on your system.

Finally, the reason most power users, users with extensive computer experience and skills, and developers use Firefox rather than IE is for the reason Sunny_D and I said way back in this thread. That being that IE simply does not comply with the majority of HTML 4 and CSS 2 standards and does not display websites as written without all sorts of code hacks that most of us are tired of putting in our codes. That is jusy a fact, whether you like it or not. It has nothing to do with speed - which really has more to do with you system specs and internet connection than the browser itself, although numerous tests by experts have concluded that IN MOST CASES (not all), Firefox is faster than IE at most tasks. Conformity to international standards is the problem for IE, as it seems to be with most MicroSoft applications. If you want to see websites displayed properly, as the designer intended, you have to use Firefox or Opera - the ONLY Pc based browsers that do conform to standards.

I have been building systems since the only operating system was DOS, and I know what I'm talking about here. If spook or others think they know better ... have fun. And be sure to keep a good system backup image for when your systems puke themselves.

1. And now you agree that Firefox MIGHT be better than IE; in your older post(s) you said it's 100% rubbish which started the flame. We can summarize that IF Firefox is 100% rubbish, still MIGHT be better than your IE. Razz

2. Why you never had the problem? Because you were never brave enough (I guess) to try entering any HARMFUL sites with your IE? Razz

1. You did by saying: "if you think firefox is better that ok...", see-- you didn't counter me, but yet you only want to hold you decision to be with your IE. Thank you for thinking it's rubbish (but not for me nor the rest). That also means you admit that (your) IE is worst-est-est-est than a rubbish.

2. You SHOULD go to any harmful sites (not only to find porns, or to get cracks) there are many more other harmful sites that don't serve porns / cracks (I thought you knew it because you are "good in computer" or was it just a phrase?).
As to test your IE's security you should do like what Jalokim did, try to be a happy clicker. Then make a comparison IE vs FF. Why should you afraid? Didn't you think IE is more secure than FF?

...Well..be brave, kid.

Hey, where's all the Safari users? Shocked

I have Firefox 3 too and I think it's kinda cool but I haven't seen a browser that beats Safari. It's so secure, good-looking, lightweight and fast and I have no reason to use any other browser. And I have used Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Camino and few other browsers.
