Whats About Our Forum!
I saw some spam topic that "Forum Bankrupt" though it was spam but i thought lot about it and have debate on that.
Forumotion provides free forums to all so income generation must be low. Now, if really Forumotion Bankrupts what will happen to our forums.
Will they provide all data to their forum owners or they will keep that with their locker. Is anyone can give answer or comment to my question.

Re: [Only-Topic] Your questions about ForuMotion
forumotion provides free forums yes, but i would think a lot of those buy domain names, gallery, template editing, have ads enabled...that will generate some income.
As for what happens if it was ever to go bankrupt, i have no idea what would happen to our data.

Re: [Only-Topic] Your questions about ForuMotion
I think its a matter of worryness also. Because if we promote our forum by hard work and all data's are gone then i cannot say what will be condition of my.
Since Zinex you told that forumotion earns money but as far as i think they must not be earning as they are expensing. They have a lot of servers and computer moreover paid staff plus forum staff (some gets) too. While we pay very less in accordance with this. So what will happen i could not say.
Moreover can they charge for forum in future if nothing works properly with financial crises.
This is serious needs debate by members.

Re: [Only-Topic] Your questions about ForuMotion
Hitesh, rest assured
I'm not a techie, so some of the facts stated may eventually be erronous or sligtly incorrect
ForumActif has been existing since 2002. We're now 2008, so I think we can assume that buisness is looking good
Contrary to your thoughts, the company is earning a reasonable amount of money. This is proven by the increase in the number of technicians as well as services proposed. To only state two: SOS blogsand HitSkin.
You'll also notice that we propose services as well as support forums in an increasing number of languages
How does ForumActif earn it's money?
It's true! Free forums, where's the cash in that?
ForumActif has two money entry points
> Google Ads
> Points Management
> Different Sponsors
As a sign that ForumActif is doing well, you can notice that the GoogleAds are not on by default on non-french forums.
Because if you think the international ForumActif community is big, it's nothing compared to the French ForumActif community
When I was a member, Gizmo once answered a similar question:
What will happen if...?
Easy: we dissapear and give you the databases of your forums
In the hopes ofhaving reassured you,
Caihlem

On what basis forumotion selects new staff!
This is really a nice topic if it has not created.
Can anyone tell how forumotion selects its staff. I have seen right from the beginning that some leave the staff and some are added. On what basis it is done

Re: [Only-Topic] Your questions about ForuMotion
O_o
Why the question?
When people leave, they do so either because they wanted to leave or (rarer) were fired
When we hire it's because we need to
I don't see the interest of this debate, so I'm asking to be convinced before I add more

Re: [Only-Topic] Your questions about ForuMotion
i was asking because it is necessary for forumotion to select quality staff and it is not necessary that Forumotion should open how they selects the staff.
So its what depend on you Admin.

Admin isn't a name but a title
And no, I don't hand pick the staff, I first short list a few names with the current staff and then discuss that short list with my Co-Admin

Who ownes ForumActif (ForuMotion):
Don't know, it's not me
Random:
I come here to work on the support forum everyday, so does each staff member of each support forum.
Plus there's techies behind the scenes promoting and innovating
So basically there's almost alwys somene working on ForumActif
For your econd question: I don't know... yet
I'm only an "expert" (if we could already say that) about ForuMotion, not coding

I post this message to give some precision about this, because it seems that some people don't understand this rule.
The forum's search engine base its research on keywords found in topic titles.
When you do a research, do you use "help", "urgent", "problem", "SOS" or "question" as keywords to look for topics about your problem/question?
Certainly not! So this is why it is important to use titles related to your problem/question. Doing this makes the researches much easier for visitors who use the search engine to get an answer to their question.
Thanks for your comprehension.

Re: [Only-Topic] Your questions about ForuMotion
Hi First of all thanks for a great service. I have just 1 question so far.
I have created my free forum and have had no problems but I was curious to know if it is possible for someone to link this forum to me. There is nothing untoward about the forum I am just anxious to preserve my anonymity. I have registered with a different name and also used an email address that won’t reveal my identity. So is it possible for someone to trace the founder of a forum ?

Re: [Only-Topic] Your questions about ForuMotion
Why can't we buy the databases?
The "they're not compatible with phpbb" might work with the average 12 to 15 year old but not with a 46 year old ex coder.
Why when someone asks and continues to ask are they banned from this forum or the topic locked (I can understand the banning of the obnoxious ones).
Is there a detailed explanation as to why we can't get hold of the databases?
Curiosity on my part maybe (I have no intention for the present in going anywhere else than forumotion).
But in the future forumotion may not be enough for my board and the ability to move it would be welcome.
Its not impossible to move manually but a lot of work.
Looking forward to an informed reply.
This is a friendly inquiry I hope that the only response isn't the usual one?
