i'm first, this poem is wrote by my friend, it's very nice, too bad it's not in english, but anyway, here it is:

PJESMA ZAKON
Teski zadaci, administratori su zakon
Ovdje se rjesava matematika sakom i kapom,
Matematicka elita ovdje se okuplja,
Svatko od njih 2 boda na drzavnom skuplja.

Svi znaju tko je Gauss, svi znaju tko je Newton,
Kuzimo se i u ostale znanosti, znamo da planet nije Pluton,
Ne crtamo sestarom, crtamo prostom rukom,
Ali nismo mi prosti, vec smo zakon!

This was a poem i wrote when my eldest was just a newborn babe:

Words of Advice

Come sit by me, my little girl,
let me tell you about this world.
Its bad and its dark and its desperate too,
but is not all evil, through and through.
People will tell you they want whats best
roll your eyes, say give it a rest,
we all have our own interests at heart,
all the same yet worlds apart.
If you love and respect whom you are.
Dont let others attempt to mar,
follow your intuition and soul,
its the only way, to make it whole.
Try not to judge, what you dont know,
pick yourself up when you are feeling low,
always look for the beauty thats here
and of death have no fear,
i will be there, waiting for you,
watching over all that you do.

Second poem I ever wrote

Everyone knows it
No one says it
Common knowledge best untold
Light fights darkness
Darkness fights light

Light strives for existence
Dark thrives for power
None can live without the other
None can be with the other

And so, the battle continues
Light pierces dark
Dark engulfs light

Maybe one day
Time will tell
Maybe one day
Light will thrive
Dark will be no more

ok, to this day, this is one of my personal faves ..

Breathless,
a moonlit sky,
a gentle wind,
your moist breath
on my neck as
my teeth sink
into yours,

Beating, stirring,
heartbeat against
heartbeat, lips
run against lips,
never mind the pain,
it'll pass,
my soul yours',
your's mine,
as two lives
melt into one, with
animalistic
accuracy,

Centuries apart,
but not separate,
Kingdoms rise and
fall, like the
sweat from your brow,

Nails, sharp, graceful,
piercing flesh,
wild passion long into
the night,

Pulsing, pumping blood
through veins,
rhythm, harmony,
as the tips of my
teeth grace your
fair skin,

Shock, suspense,
pleasure, sensory overload,
as you collapse forever in
to a comma of eternal
Ecstacy.

Well I find it hard to be serious .
this is me in the morning

Facing the day

With bad temper and sighs
Each morning I rise

Don’t speak to or touch me
I’m just far too grumpy

I stomp to the galley
And reach for a tin

That rattles so nicely
With coffee beans in

A quick little grind and into a jug
Now the hot water just like a hug

Pour into a cup
nearly ready to sup

Now raise it so slowly up to the lips
Smooth hot and strong like a first lovers kiss

Mmmm what can I say
Just one more cup and I’ll face the day.

Have you ever seen the ocean, late
at night during a storm? the waves
churning, crashing, and curving so
very high, so much power and strength,
it makes your heart race.
Have you ever seen Alaska's northern
lights? oh so very much like an ocean
of color, high up in the sky, swirling
and disappearing, and coming about once
again. like if someone up there, is
playing with a rainbow and making it
swirl and glow.
Have you ever seen, A glorious sunset,
or a sunrise, all red, orange, pink and
gold. It is such a beautiful sight to
behold. One day soon, stop for a while,
and open your eyes and your sense's to
the world around you. You will see the
Glory of God, here on earth.

Bad Wolf I dont think your poem was very appropriate for younger members......But thats my opinion.
Nessa I will open the poll in about 15 minutes, Im waiting for final entries.
Hmmmm why dont you have your go at poetry Nessa? LOL

Not much of my style, but here goes

I slept at dawn and stood at dusk
I stood before the one I trust

He stood for power
He stood alone
He went through hell
Which left his heart of stone

He stood for one
He stood alone
He kept his thoughts
His sins to atone

I saw nothing but pain
I saw nothing but a demon
I saw only hatred
In just one human being

I stood before him the only one I could see
It was then I realized
I was looking at noone but me
