Rules of the graphic section

This is the full guide to request and general procedures on the graphics section of Forumotion's Help Forum. First a word of explanation.

The Graphics Forum is divided into 4 categories:

• Graphics Requests - the ONLY place to request: Banners, avatars, signatures , buttons of all sort for your forum and more...
  
• Self-service - Proposal - If you have some self made buttons or other graphics that you are no longer using ,you can post them here for others to use.
  
• Self-service - Gallery - The graphics that are posted in the above forum are moderated and if they qualify they go to this forum.
  
• Graphic contest - Here members can challenge others to collab sigs or any other graphics based contests
  

With that out of the way we all know where to post what.

REQUSTING GRAPHICS FOR MY FORUM

1) Remember to start with an explicit title, it should contain the general nature of your request for example : "Requesting banner for my forum"

Note that requests with invalid or non-explicit titles will be locked or deleted. Also, if you put a title like "I want request NOW!" you request won't be done ; it will be locked.

2) Second you MUST use the graphics commander available here :

This graphics commander will give you something like that :

Nature of the creation : Affiliate button
Creation size (in pixels) : 88*31
With or without animation : Without animation please
Background color : Blue
Picture(s) link(s) : Click here
Text to insert : help.forumotion.com
Link to the font to download : You can choose the font.
Font color : White
Link of my forumotion forum : help.forumotion.com
Extra comments : I don't have extra comments

All you do is fill the information.

NOTE : this is the only time you can use color or bold in your posts.

You must provide the link of you forum (which must be hosted by forumotion) if you want your request to be done)

It is advised to add exact pixel sizes (width and height) or at least an estimate to the final products size.
Same goes for color... make sure to specify clearly.

3) In general all members can try to complete a graphics request... but it is the new Graphics Staff job to do these requests so thier word is FINAL!... The Graphics Staff consists of qualified GFX artists that are here to help you in your requests. The Graphics Staff are moderators in any section dealing with Graphics... whether its the hitskin forum or the request column. A GFX Staff member is to be treated with the same respect as any other staff member on this forum! The Graphics Staff are also humans and could be unable to complete a request , or could take longer to complete. Give them some time and space to complete everything.

4) Request BUMPING is tolerated but under strict rules:

• Full theme requests are NEVER bumped
  
• Bumps must be separated by at least 24 hour time spans - but impulsive bumping will result in warns
  
• There are many requests to be finished so it is a one request per week rule - everyone deserves a fair chance ...please do not flood the request forum.
  

5) Request completion:
A Graphics Staff member will always reply to a topic he is planning to complete. Graphics Staff can tag their the current request (by either saying so in a post or simple adding a **tagged** sign) - which mean that this specific GFX artist is going to handle the request. After a Request is Tagged , bumping is disallowed.

6) After a request is complete please add [Done] to your topic title... then it is easier for the GFX Staff to clean up. Otherwise Requests are moved to the finished forum after 24 hours.
6a) or you can edit your topic and select the solved image to make it even more easier.

Graphics Requests won't be completed if

1. Your request is not clear or impossible to complete.
   
2. Your site is illegal , blocked by Online Guardian , or if you request graphics for a non-forumotion forum.
   
3. You have been banned from this site.
   
4. You use Copyrighted pictures . GFX Staff are to tell the member who posted the request that this picture is protected under copyright and that we can't do anything. We can recognize a protected image by the © symbol.
   
5. If you make a creation with such pictures, here are the sanctions you may face :click here

You are not allowed to

1. Request via PM
   
2. Double post or impulsively bump threads
   
3. Flame any members art or argue with the GFX staff
   
4. Cut in line ( start your own topic... don't bump with your own request in someone elses)
   
5. request items for general use ... doing graphics for the proposals

All other image sizes MUST be specified in the graphics commander.

Commenting and moderating

1) Everyone is entitled to their own opinion... but when commenting finished art by the GFX staff or members please do NOT flame or criticize. You are allowed to post constructive comments but not offensive.

2) Now Forumotion has Staff specialized in the field of Graphic Arts... Members are not allowed to moderate. Those posts are considered as SPAM and the GFX staff are here to lock and move and advise in threads... Normal members do not have to help us... we can do fine without your help!
Members who continue to moderate, spam or flood posts will be treated with the 3 strikes rule that applies to the entire Help Forum.

3) Please be patient ... the graphics staff try really hard to get all the requests done as fast as they can. Remember that we also have lives and that we can make mistakes. We are dedicated to help you but if you stand in our way or interrupt us by being unpleasant or aggressive , we shall not complete the requests and you may end up with warns that can lead to bans.

Update to the rules

Although the graphics staff are here to help you in your graphics requests , we must create a ranking system for your forums. What this means is that not all forums will qualify for graphic requests.

There are many requests that have to be completed but we need to do the higher priority requests first! That means we do graphics for stable forums that have a future ahead of them and a decent amount of members.

So we no longer accept requests from fresh new forums ... we are not sure whether your forum will be a success or not. And its a shame wasting time on uncertain forums rather then forums that have been around long.
So requests open to 1 month old forums and over

We also have a unconfirmed limit for theme requests. There are very few themers and very many forums.
To request a theme you must have over 200 members and your forum has to have well over 3 months

All the above is still unconfirmed... I am trying to develop a way to rank a forum to see if its active and if it has potential.
