How do I show my created groups inside a member's info when they post?
I'm running a forums that has several groups. Members apply to a group, but then how do I set the forums to show everyone what group they belong in?
I'd like to have each member have their group inside the profile box when they post. Is this possible? I've searched and can't find the answer.

When you add them to a group the group name is there. Like here it says Forumotion Member If they added me to to Administrator group it would be removed and replaced with Administrator
Re: How do I show my created groups inside a member's info when they post?
No... it's not showing on mine. The ranks will show up, but then I have to manually place each person and assign a rank. Groups don't show up... at least not on my forums.

Can i have a link?
EDIT: if you goto the admin panel, if you goto someones profile at the bottom it says rank title choose the title and it will say that in the mini profile.

i don't want the ranks shown... i want their groups posted in the mini profile. If it's an option, it should be somethign simple to set where all members will have it shown, and it would not have to be done individually.
Here's a link, but the public section has no posts. I'll have to post one to show...

Do you have advanced profile on? admin panel>>>users and groups>>>users>>>profile>>>general options>>>advanced profile>>>yes
tell me if that works.
You can also add a profile field and make it viewable in messages.

I don't see any changes with advanced profile, and the only options when adding a profile field are for members to enter fields themselves.
could this be related to the version of my template?

You will need to create ranks http://help.forumotion.com/frequently-asked-questions-f5/user-ranks-t16692.htm and then add them by Admin Panel>>User & groups>>Search the User>>Click on the user>>Go all the way down till you see rank and click the drop down box and give the user the rank>>save
Do this for all the members
Do this for all the members

No way am I doing that for ALL members. There has got to be a way to show a persons GROUP in their mini profile on posts. Besides, you can't even sort or list members by rank.
Re: How do I show my created groups inside a member's info when they post?
Hello,
you can't do "Auto grouping" but you can do "auto ranking" however, thats only for a person/s post number.
There's no other way.

So when people apply to a group, and they get accepted... there's no way of showing that group on their mini profile when they post? I find that VERY hard to believe.
Ranks are something totally different and unrelated to what I want.

You can show what groups' a member is in, via the Advanced Profile system, but that's not in ur post profile - you would have to click the profile button to see that.

So basically from what everyone is telling me... you can't do what I'm asking.
This seems so basic and just makes sense to have.
