Portal Problem

Hey,
Can anybody help me?
I'm trying to edit my portal but everytime shows me the message:

Portal is not installed
Click here to install it
Click here to return to Admin Index

but everytime i press 'click here to install it' a copy of my previous portal is added to the same portal so I have the same thing 4-5 times.

I don't know what the problem is then. It might be a technical problem, in that case you should PM Typlo.

I strongly urge you NOT to PM Typlo, as he doesn't provide assistance Via PM, and LH Justin, can you please sop suggesting Typlo as the answer for everything...it would get annoying to get such a volume of PM's for something that we can expose & Resolve....try reading my PM boxes at night ( Laughing

)

Yes this is the the portal of my forum...can you please help me? do you know how to fix the problem?

So, that's the portal you want to change....yes?

I recommend that you remove ur current one ( Disable or trash it ) and replace it with the new one; that should fix it.

I can't even delete my portal cause it shows me all the time:

He said in the first post that every time he tried to install it he was redirected back to the same page.

hahah take it easy man. it's his first day on the job.
but yeah no need to go through typlo for things like this unless it's a case where we absolutely need him.

OK i dont understand your forum is working but what do you mean by copy of your portal. your portal will not change unless you customize or add or take away what ever it is you want to change in it.

you get one portal. it is the pages that you can create.
so if you have more then one page i believe it's only going to show.
so you would have to choose witch one it is that you want to show as your default page.

in your structure you can change them and have a few different ones but you have to show which portal will be displayed.

oh and you can delete the copies just be sure to keep one so you dont lose what you have now.

let me know how you make out with. i am almost certain this is how it works. it's been a wile since i have fiddled around with it so i will test a few things in the mean time to also make sure.

No no I got missunderstood! I didn't mean that I have pages of portal but in the same portal I have for example the Welcome message 5 times because I have clicken 5 times the Install Portal. I am trying to access the portal management but I can't cause all is showing me is to Install the Portal that's the only thing i can acces about my portal! I can't edit or anything. I don't know what the problem may be!

so you are saying you can not even get into the portal settings to choose whether or not to show it,set your default,stucture or duplicate etc... all that keeps comming up is to install it? and every time you install it it's just makeing a copy and you can not get into no settings any settings at all ? scratch

Ok have you tried the utility tools to restore your forum to a date befor this has started to happen. please try that and then if that dose not work i will have to pass it along to typos office.
actually justin has had this in the office already..but i did not know the situation was that you could not get to the portal options.

so my apologise to both you and Justin for misunderstanding the problem.

But i can't even access the Portal management all it appears is the You haven't installed the portal. I can't see anything other option about the portal! Exept if this is not on Modules but somewhere else but I looked and couldn't find anything about portal's name. Sad

I'm so sorry if I have bothered all of you. If you can't define what my problem could be could you please uninstall my portal?
