Re: changing French texts to English
Sorry, this forum is really new...
The old one is here, but it's only in french :
http://forum.forumactif.com
This mistake is now OK.
If you see another error, you can put it here.
Thanks for your post.

Re: changing French texts to English
Thank you ever so much for telling about the French version of the support forum. I was looking for something like that but all I could find was this forum. I got a bit worried seeing that nobody else has any problems
And thanks for your prompt reaction.
I think there were some other French lignes on the admin panel. It didn’t disturb me but my co-admin, who doesn’t speak French, was somewhat complaining about them. If it would be of help to you, I’ll ask him to write down what problems he had.
See you on the other forum,

Hello,
We found another French line. When using "User Admin > Management" if I change a user's info and press submit, the following sign appears:
(Should be something like "click here to view profile of user")

Some of my icons are in a different language too
I hate having this problem. I have to show everybody what each one means. It's only new topic and reply and some other ones.

I just now made some plain ugly buttons off paint for now. That will have to do. I am using subsilver too. I'll check that out.

Re: changing French texts to English
well you can take your button in french, erase the text and re-write it in english.
There's more button with french text than english one,so you would have choices!

Re: changing French texts to English
Hi everyone!
I'm new here, but some people here know me already (eh, Tristou
), I'm on the French board since September 2004 and I'm very active there. My first language is French and I'm not totally bilingual, so excuse me if I make some mistake sometime.
Now, about translation : I created a forum on editboard to test my cat theme I made for a graphic contest where I finished 2nd, on the French board.
When I went in my admin panel > User Admin > Management, to change my admin username for Katt, I checked the page and I saw some stuff in French.
1- All the labels are in French by default (Localisation, Site Web, Emploi, Loisirs)
2- In the line "User is Active", the third answer is in French, it is weitten "Banni" instead of "Banned"
See ya!
Katt the little kitten
PS : en passant, si ya des Québécois icitte, j'vous dis un gros salut!

You need to change it with your configuration panel, that doesn't change automaticly, only by yourself.
PS:Salut!

Re: changing French texts to English
Huh for french text which is not traduced: in the Members List, there is still written "Aucune visite" for those who didn't visit TFOF since their subscription. It should be No visit instead.
Hey hey Katt. Recognize your Gandalf?
P.S. For those who might wonder, I am french born too, so don't be too cruel with me XD

Well..
Is it right that in the edit profile the public informations places are in french ?
All messengers are translated, but by default the others are in french (Emploi, Loisir, Site web). Localisation may be right.

I'm registered in a PHPBB board which its default language is English, and in our profiles, instead of "Localisation", it's written "Location"
Re: changing French texts to English
I don't know why but in my english board (made on this site) these words are in french.
It doesn't disturb me much more than that, but it may append another time.

Re: changing French texts to English
I found a very good English forum template site, you can download missing English icons from it: http://www.forumer.com/phpbbdemo/
If anybody needs Subsilver template icons I already up-loaded them on imagshack:

It would be very nice if admins could upload it among the regular icons.
Thanks,
Alice

Re: changing French texts to English
Where? When I started my forum all my icons were displayed in French. Not very tempting for an English audience. So I looked around on other English phpbb forums and inserted the links of their icons. Unluckily the forum I choosed experienced technical problems so my English icons didn't display either.
Are you saying that the icons for the subsilver template have been translated in forumactif and I could simply use those? Where can I find the links?

Re: changing French texts to English
Yes because the themes are not translated (if something can translate it, that will be good
)
I believed it was icons of this forum. If you used subsilver, you can use the icons posted here.

Hey hey! Just found another mistake with the translation. When you go in the administration panel and try to delete a forum which has messages in it, this appears:

Re: changing French texts to English
I translated :
> primmo : I'm French too (from Quebec), but my English level is almost Collegial 102. In our education system, collegial (in CEGEP schools) comes after the high school, when we are 17 years old. In collegial studies, there are 3 levels of English, depending on the students' level : Basic (100), Intermediate (101) and Advanced (102)
This forum still has topics. Select another forum where you want to move the topics

What a charming idea to start counting from 100

Hi !
Administration Panel -> smileys -> 'Modifier' http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/7977/mistakesmiley3ph.gif
Add new smiley -> http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/4239/mst22el.png
'Parcourir' is too in ''Avatars'' and in the Profiles
'Parcourir' is english ?
Is it normal ?
There are buttons so perhaps it's normal ...
Bye
Goodbye everybody :DD
