New Users are automatically registering without me manually activating - help please

I prefer to manually activate new users when I have clarified their reason for joining my forum, and I have the settings on the admin panel set to reflect this.

However, occasionally, around every 6th registration, accounts are automatically activating and users are getting an email thanking them for registering and telling them their account is activated...............why is this, it has only been the last few days since the recent upgrade of the admin panel?

Just asking to be 100% sure: "New accounts activation" is set to ADMIN in "Users & Groups / User Options"?

yes, it is set to admin. There must be a glitch somewhere, as it doesnt happen everytime.

This problem is still happening, another user has automatically activated and had an email telling them so generated by the system, as I said before, this seems to be 1 in 6 times.

I will move your thread over to the Technicians so they can have a look on this when they have time. I hope this problem get's fixed soon, but please be patient in case the Techs are currently busy with other things.

We are still getting this problem, another new user today has had an automatic email telling them they are activated, whereas the last 6 users had to be manually activated by admin as per our settings. Any idea when this issue will be resolved?

Yet another problem.........I made it mandatory that new users entered a location before registering, although this is set as 'obligatory', users are being able to register 'without' entering a location.

All this since the new admin panel?

sorry to keep chasing this, but I am now getting trolls joining the forum automatically as I dont always get the option to manually activate. Some are registering with vulgar user names, and I have had complaints from members.

A month after I raised this issue, I am still getting members, around 1 in 6, automatically activate without admin intervention, is there an update please?

but... I tried in my forum that even an user is unactivated, its username and email will exist in the database and return all registeration afterwards in case the username and email are the same, how was such problem exist?

ohh, just month? I'm waiting techs for something else much more (month and a half )... you have to be patient..

Hi, can anyone help me with this, as the last three new members accounts registered on the forum today have automatically activated themselves, even though I have the user option status set for new accounts to be activated by admin.

I am now really really desperate to get this resolved, as trolls are registering on the forum and their accounts automatically activating. Anyone, please???????
