A banned member keeps returning to my forum and threatens to hack members and he swears. He has made several accounts and threatens to hack me and members on my forum. He also said to me that if I dont make him a Mini-Mod he will commit suicide using his dads gun....Of course I didnt make him a Mini-Mod because I knew he was lying...either that or he's a mental freak.
He has pushed his luck too far, for this reason I want to report him to the internet authorities so they can ban his I.P's and block him from using the internet...Can you help me or give me a link of how to do this?

I think you can report it to his/her ISP for that kind of stuff (Not sure).

IP Ban that person then go through each user account and email ban each account with that persons IP, also banning the usernames couldn't hurt. This can all be done in your Admin CP in the "users & Groups"

When you see him online. Go to Administration Panel -- >Admin Index

Down you will see " Who is Online "
You see him, near name is IP Adress, click on IP Adress

You will be linked to
http://www.ipgetinfo.com

Thats one way, but, sometimes it fails because they usually change their IP address.

But whenever you sign-up for a ISP, you agree to comply to the terms & conditions, etc...

So I don't know if his/her ISP could punish/deal with something like that or any other ISP.

Edit: You cant simply "Ban" someone from the internet.

Actually if someone is on a microsoft OS be it vista or XP they can send code to deactivate the product because they person violates the license, I know this first hand having reported people and having it done. And as I'm sure we all know, no OS means NO internet.

Okay that members made 5 new accounts today even though I banned his I.P, E-mail and user.

ok, this has to be done all in one day, probably in the same hour. first go to all 5 accounts and ban them all again with the 3 bans, next switch your forum to "under construction", this will stop them from coming back and registering again so you can do the next 2 parts, first send out a news letter to all members telling them your URL has changed to, I don'tknow, pick something... then change your URL then take it off the "under construction". this should stop them altogether since they wont know your URL... works about 70% of the time, that other 30% is incase they find you googling

You cannot ban this user from the Internet unless you get permission from the Microsoft© company or you alert a Microsoft staff member. Try going to their site and give them his IP address. They will take care of it.

I contacted Microsoft© and they explained something to me. He is a paying customer. They cannot ban any user from the Internet unless he is writing, trading, or buying things that are against the law. You can ban him from your forum but that is as far as Microsoft© or Windows® will let you go.

Can't you ban their IP address, should stop them from signing up again, or get a new web address perhaps.. might not be able to find the site then.

he or she is using a proxy so you just have to keep banning him or her, but the down side of this is for the other people who are using a proxy too you could end up banning them too. so what i would to is keep cleaning out your ip ban list. i had the same problem i must of ban this bloke atleast 20 times

As far as it's concerned, i've found out that when i post something, my ip address is mostly different everytime.
For example, post #1 ip address is different from post #2 ip address.

This goes to some of the members posts too. o.O
