An Administrator Deleted 75 members from my forum! ( Solved )

An Administrator Deleted 75 members from my forum and tried to ruin my forum which he has now done! I only made him an administrator like 30 minutes ago! I tried to restore my forum but it doesnt work! What do I have to do to restore it? PLEASE HELP! please! Sad

Wow thats sad. You need to be extremely careful on who you pick for admins that have access to that sorta stuff. Wait for an admin to reply to your post. Razz

take him off the Admin's group/Rank
and contact an Admin

ok, anyway even the forum restored the deleted users cannot. its just all you have to do is invite them again.

yah but still he has left some post, his IP can still be viewed i think?

~anyway his a serious treat to every forum, he might as well do that on other, revealing his IP will be able to note everyone that he is not to trust with... and so as we ce-hub will warn him mwii

I am really sorry to hear about that, personally I would never have another Administrator on my forums, even it it got really big, just lots of moderators. Sorry I can't help but I think you need to PM an Admin of this forum and explain your problem!

dont delete anything hun. Go to http://forumotion.com/en/utils

enter the original address to your site and the password you used when you first made your forum. Restore it and remove him from admin. It will be just fine. If you have forgotton your log in details contact an admin.

you will be fine crystal as long as you make a really secure password and make sure that the email address registered to your forum for you, has a really strong security question too. It is fairly easy to hack say a hotmail account belonging to the admin of a site then send for a password reset email. Make sure all passwords are secure and dont make up anyone you barely know as admin. Put it down to experience Wink

Thank you crystal! I don't know who this guy is but i have banned his email and IP because i had a hacker come on my old forum and post hacking things and it got shut down so..... But i have recovered. You get all your members back?

30 minutes after you admin'd this person too? Gesh you really have to so careful who you let inside your admin panel next time sweety, really. Mad

Zinex is right, if you restore it it should be fine again, but ban this jamie guy straight away( but don't delete that account afterwards, or it undoes the ban ). I hope you get everything back to normal again soon Wink

Which will accomplish absolutely nothing, because he could just use a different username. He needs to be IP banned.

Best advice is to never, EVER give anyone you don't know personally Admin status. Even then it can be risky if for some reason you have a disagreement. Also - you have no assurance that this other person will be as careful with their passwords and such as you are - leaving the forum open to hacking through the co-admins account. DON'T DO IT. That includes other forumotion members who offer help, by the way. How can you trust "100%" someone you don't even know?

Use the tools provided that Zinex mentioned and forget anyone elses help except for a support specialist from Forumotion.
