Chat oddity

I joined a forumotion phpbb2 board a while back, and whilst I was there, I noticed this oddity in the chatroom. If somoene posts a super long post like this then all of the text after it, including the name of the poster, the numberset to the left of the username that tells what time they posted looks like this, too. It also works if you make a super long post (the post has to be like: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX or asoifjsiofjsiofhiosfjhfosdfjsdklfhosdifhsdiofhosdifhsdiofhosfhsodfhsdaf and has to be long enough to require a horizontal scroll bar to appear in your browser for it to work) in just bold, just italic, just underline, and just strikethrough, or any combination of 2 or 3, or even all 4. If we clear the chat, it is fixed. Might I ask what the heck is going on, and if it can be fixed permanantly?

BTW, this is not my forum, but I have just made a forum here with a chatroom, and I would like it to be fixed so I don't have to deal with this issue on mine

I'm only concerned about this because another member has a slower computer and if this happens, the chat app freezes for him...and his computer tends to chain freeze

EDIT: Tested it out on my own forum, the same problem happens

is this happening on the forumotions chat box or another one?
If it's forumotions then try to turn it off for a wile then turn it back on.
you can also try changing the skin or to another version and see if it works on that and them switch it back. forumotions chat box has always had small glitches but the seem to work themselves out.

you can also find other chat free chat boxes you can add to your forum too like xat.
http://xat.com/ or you can google it to find many others as well.

EDIT: yes, it is happening on the Forumotions chat box. Sometimes people set it off on purpose, and it is getting to be a pain, especially since one of the members has a faulty computer. We have been able to keep them in line, though
