locking a forum/category

Hi,

I am trying to lock a category so users can not post after a certain time. For example, I'd like to set it that no users can post in a particular category after say 2pm on a Saturday. Is this possible?

You can't lock a category, nor can u post in a category.
U can lock the forums in the category individually.

But do I have to do this manually or can I set it so it closer automatically at a given time?

No you cant close a forum automatically at a given time. You have to do it manually, change the permissions at particular times as you want.
