Members only?

Post by Jimmy574 on June 18th 2008, 6:08 pm

I have a certain member who is being a real ass who actually hacked us several time in the past because he thinks we are "copying" his forum or something. He keeps logging in with a proxy, creates several accounts, breaks the rules, and so I shut off user registrations, but he can still look at the forum as a guest. Is there a way I can make the whole forum available to members only? Sorry if this is already answered, I searched and hundreds of results came up, nothing relating to this.

No, not the forums themselves, the entire site. I'm not sure how to do that, if it's possible.

Click on the advance tab, and uncheck the read and reply in the permissions section. (Or uncheck them all for guests, but then if you need help it may be hard for designers and more to get to your forum).

If you uncheck read and reply, then no guest can see the posts, but they can still see the board's forum front page only, buttons banners and topic titles... but when they click on topic they will be asked to sign in, before they can read it.

Faster way is just to go to Forum >> Forum Permissions Control, click on each main category and change view and read to members and that'll set it to the same for all the forums inside them.

then go to users >> special rights and set everything in there to members. Then all he can see is the main page. And not access anything else.

Stop complaining, idiot. You copied us (us being me and my game.) You claim that you have a copyright when you don't. your members claim that you don't need one, that according to some little piece of legal info when a person publishes something, they do not need a copyright because they are automatically entitled to the idea and other people are restricted from plagiarizing. Well, I made the damn game first, so you should be in jail for plagiarism, and hacking (a violation of the Internet Security Code).

Also, I have private messages Typlo three times, and the message are not in my outbox, so he has read them, but I haven't got a response. I expect, since forumotion 'is the best forum host on the web,' to get a response to a problem from an administrator.

Lol, we have no similarities between the two games except the name. Drew, the one who said that, says that you can only get sent to jail for copying the name if the prosecutor's one is trademarked, and none of us have a trademark.

Hey, Bill Nye, you fail. You haven't even fully made the first beta of your game yet, and I already haved several versions out...until my crappy laptop crashed, and I will get it running soon in the near future. Btw, when did I ever hack you?

I've PMed the admins lots. Trust me, they don't reply.

@Marsco:
Thanks, I will be implementing this in the future if the dumbass who made the above quoted post doesn't stop annoying the hell out of my forum.
