How to earn points?

My friend says that it is possible to earn points on our forumotion forums instead of buying them but how is that? Shocked

There are two types of points:
Directory points(Which are in the Homepage of the admin panel and are automatically given for new members registering, posts. topics. These points help your forum on the Forumotion directory. The more points you have, the higher your forum ranking will be. These point scan also decrease if you delete members,posts, topics)
The other type are your Forum points which can be found in admin panel=>Misc=>Points Management=>Configuration. You can buy points from there by clicking on the "Buy points" button. The only way you can obtain these type of points is to buy them. If you have enough points you will be able to expand the capacity of the Gallery of your forum, Buy a personalized domain name, use template editing.

very enlightening. just a note, where do i find my forum ranking?

When you are on the Homepage of your admin panel, you will see a section "Forums directory". Click on the link corresponding to your category(you will find this next to the "Forum Category :") and there you can check the ranking of your forum compared to other forums within the same category as yours.
