Redirection of old forum name/url
If I change the URL and name of my forum eg
myforum.domain.com to yourforum.domain.com
will the old url just be dead or does it still work and redirect people to the new url?

Re: Redirection of old forum name/url
If you change the address from your forum from a sub-domain (So the freeby by forumotion) to a custom one (One that you purchased urself) it will automatically redirect, however they can access the same site on the same site.
IE: Ive been accessing forumansion with the subdomain (forumansion.forumotion.com) for a long time, whilst it has had it's own domain (forumansion.com) because the sobdomain will work for the life of the forum, where as the purchased (custom) domain will only work for 12 months (1 year)
However, if you change your forum from a subdomain to a different subdomain (IE: help.forumotion.com to help.forumotion.net ) it will NOT redirect so you have to advertise the change for a while.
I hope this clears things up
