Is there a way to add several different topic icons when posting new topics? For example, this forum has "none" and "Solved" as options for the icons...

Yes it is possible.
This should happen automaticly as a set default for your Forum.
It may vary from forum type to forum type.

In Display>pics management.
look at the tab that says TOPICS ICONS
you can either use some default ones and specify what you want them for or upload your own.
