Phpbb2 not working in my forum

Post by ChadmStraight on November 5th 2009, 5:43 pm

I have 2 different sites, one phpbb2 is working, the other is not. Every other version will work, besides 2. By not working, I mean there are blank pages. I can not access any topics or posts. I think this had something to do with the recent problems with the server transfers, but this problem is not fixed on my site yet. I tried the solution provided

"Simply go to http://yourforumaddress.com/admin and browse through Display > templates > and browse all templates categories where you've got customized templates WITHOUT touching them, and it will simply be fixed. Smile

For all other users that had customized templates, you can now use them freely again."

that did nothing for me. I am currently running the site in phpbb3, so there are no errors right now, but if you want the url anyways
www.killazinc.forumotion.net
If there is a better solution I can try, please inform me. If a tech can fix this, please do so. I would like to switch back to phpbb2.
One last thing: to be honest, since this problem hasn't been fixed, and my site has been unused for several weeks, the no ads compensation was kind of an insult, since no one could use the site during that time anyways.

Thank you

Hello

Have you used another browser, to the one you currently use?
And is "www.killazinc.forumotion.net" the forum with the inaccessability?

Yes i have used another browser. None of the member were able to load pages on the site while using phpbb2. Yes that is the site with the inaccessibility.

I understand there was an issue. I don't understand why it can't be fixed. My other site is working fine on phpbb2 with its original skin. But I can try re-uploading all the pictures, start with a blank skin and recreate what I once had. If that does not work, I will write a reply.

I just tried using a completely different skin, also the default skin, and an imported previous skin with the phpbb2 version, still does not work. Phpbb2 will not work regardless of the skin. So if I could have a tech figure this problem out, I would appreciate it.

May I remind you that double/triple posting isn't tolerated unless separated by 24 hours (Use the edit button) Wink

This is already reported, not all phpbb2 skins have a problem as far as i know.

man whatever. I thought this site would be helpful. I actually migrated my site from another provider to use this one. Have not had any problems until now. I'm trying ask for help, explain as much as I can, and I get a warning because I'm posting too much? I have no clue what you mean by double posting, but I'm tired of waiting, and I am not going to wait 24 hours to post a reply to any suggestions on what the problem might be. I can see that this problem will not be fixed. I'm sure I can also find another provider. Don't care if my forum is small and doesn't matter financially, but it matters to me.

did you ever try deleting the templates on the forum thats not working properly. if you have had custum templates then you will have to delete them and go back and add what ever you had in them befor. it's the only way to fix it.

or you may have to add the templates that typlo has provided over here.
but this is only for the new features and only if those templates over there have been edited.

but the real easy way is to just deleted the old templates and the new default will replace them.

here the ones that typlo has posted if you need to try it this way.

http://help.forumotion.com/updates-and-new-features-f1/new-update-25-fresh-functionalities-for-your-pleasure-t57131.htm

see right here.

browse through them? yeah browse through them and delete all of the ones with red X's next to them..thats the part that was left out.Or did you do that?
but now if you did not. then you might want to copy the things you added to the templates to a note pad. so you can go back and add after you delete the templates.
only copy the things you added to the templates not the whole template.
unless you dont care what was in there then you can just delete them and they will be back to the new defaults.

And you can post again within 24 hours but not back to back with your own post.Meaning you have to wait for someone to reply. or edit any new content in the previous post
