Should it be added?
Disclaimer/copyright notice
I'm the admin of a norwegian warhammer forum. And quite many know that Games Workshop is very strict at what is allowed so they have put up a disclaimer everyone can use.
The problem is, theres nowhere to put it.
Theres no copyright section, nor is there a disclaimer section of your board.
The reason I post this is I want a board that is reasonably leagal as everything we say is "copyrighted" by Games Workshop.
Thank you in advance!

Hi, I d't see the problem
You could put it:
> In your common rules
> In your homepage message
> In your rules written out

Re: Disclaimer/copyright notice
My point was, that if it is in the rules, Games Workshop have to start the leagal process because it isn't easily viewable. They had to register to se them.
And not everyone has a homepage for their forums. And getting one just for the disclaimer seems stupid. Its a waste of bandwith and space.
But you are the admin... i can try what you suggested.
Im still a newbie in this. My second forum and the first didnt last more than a month or two...

Re: Disclaimer/copyright notice
i just did this today, added it to the rules meaning a registering member has to agree to my disclaimer or not join. I dont think there a real need for your suggestion
Re: Disclaimer/copyright notice
Hi, I have added copyrights to my forum as well to keep peoples from copying members poetry and other articles of that nature.etc, you can also add this little banner to your posts or pages you would like to protect by copyscape and then see if anybody has copied your work elsewhere. It has worked for me. Maybe it can do the same for you. Good Luck I hope that helps some .
Re: Disclaimer/copyright notice
nono.. its not to protect what i have done. Well, it can be used for this too. But its for protecting Games Workshops intellectual property. They can legaly sue me if i do not have it.
Its just that i want to be safe from everything...

Re: Disclaimer/copyright notice
I think forumotion should add a disclaimer option for those who own boards paid for by members here.
Re: Disclaimer/copyright notice

You can type up a disclaimer already, in the home page message.
I myself would do what (the lovely Nessa) has done, and said.

Re: Disclaimer/copyright notice
