Security Questions..
Founder Security Questions
My idea is for Founders, please read ALL the way to the bottom before you vote on this idea, thank you in advance.
The problem with a full lock out is that you have to wait 90 minutes, I propose that as Founders, we should have to make a security question or two to by-pass all security measures.
These questions woul be SET when making the Founder profile and can only be seen or edited by the Founder themselves.
In event of unfortuantly losing acess to your Forum, this is what would happen, and I assure you, with this idea, I have spent a lot of time and effort picking it to pieces to find all the Flaws I can... hopefully other mebers won't find any Flaws either.
Firstly, you'd have your first 9 attempts to get into your account as usual, upon failure and auto lock-out, ANYONE and EVERYONE would then see a box come up, with a security question only Founders will know how to answer this question, you only get ONE try and then it locks you out TOTALLY and alerts a member of the Forumotion Admin.
The aim of this Idea:
Simple, quick, effective way of Founder password recovery... we could even make it so that after answering the question, the Founder recieves instant log in to the Admin Panel, OR the Index Page of the Forum.
To do this, there would have to be a link to the Forumotion support forum, where an Automated response will allow you personal access to your Forum after sucessfully answering the password question which would be set upon creation of your account for your OWN forum.
If you fail all 9 attempts and then the password question, it will automaticly block you from using it the Question again, placing a barring onto the USERNAME.. this will then alert a member of the Forumotion Admin to the situation.
(If you are dumb enough to forget the answer to a question which you set yourself, then you don't deserve to have a Forum, let alone be let into one)
Result of this system:
- Stops hackers unless they can guess a totally random question answer in ONE go.
- Allows total security over Founder passwords and password questions.
- Quick and Easy access to the RIGHTFUL owners of the site.
- Additional questions set up will offer more security over the Founder account.
- No more going to Eximma for Account lock-out problems except the Tools part.
- Less stress overall for Founders as they will know that they have a secure way or two to be able to enter their account, no matter what has happened.
Please tell me what you ALL think, I am dying to hear peoples views on this idea.
Thank you for your time taken to read my idea.
Kind Regards
~DS~

Re: Founder Security Questions
Thanks guys, I have thought hard on this idea, and I think, from what I hve seen of other suggestions, it's one of the only really useful Ideas there has been, which also isn't for cosmetic reasoning, unlike so many other suggestions.
This really does have a genuine idea behind it, and I have been thinking on this for a loooooong time.... yeah, that long..!
Thanks for the comments..

This is a PRIME example of exactly why we should have this kind of security which I strongly suggest we need and that it SHOULD be intergrated ASAP.
Please, consider how many people could/would be hacked, and then if they had this system?.. it could overwrite the hackers entry completely.

Re: Founder Security Questions
I voted yes. This truly is fantastic idea.
This would really do the job, good thinking Demonspike
What ? We have 9 attempts ? Due to security reasons, this is seriously needs to get reduced to 3 or maximum 5. Gonna open a poll right away.
