In progress [Only Topic] (2400): Request limit exceeded message

Post by Suuki on November 20th 2011, 9:10 pm

First topic message reminder :

Hi, I'm getting this message all the time when browsing around my board. You guys said you would keep the other topic open until you get a reply from the higher ups. This is actually happening more frequently now, too. Any new news on this issue? Is this happening to anyone else? I haven't heard of other people complaining actually.

For me it is happening even when I'm doing things like clicking on the navigation bar.

Sorry, i wasn't sure whether I was supposed to open another topic or not, so lock this if you want to. it's a really big problem.

Not just Ajax. Anything that has to request info or pages from the server.
Stuff like Iframes, Ajax, linking to your CSS sheet, linking to a Javascript file, too many images.

etc. etc...

In the past one or two months, I bet that both Suuki and you have added the same scripts to your board. And both of you have this problem. Hmm.

I can only say that my board may very well contain more script code than any other board on forumotion, and it doesn't exhibit this problem. The only time I have ever experienced this error was on a board with templates, and I was deleting all the templates manually.

First I read this:

Then I noticed something.. both sgeorge and Suuki and using forum versions phpBB2 and punBB... forums with templates! As Dion has said, he has not experienced this on his board, and he has an Invision board. I myself have a good amount of Javascript on 3 different boards and I haven't experienced this issue - 2 of my boards are phpBB3 and one of them is Invision.

Perhaps try upgrading to phpBB3 or Invision. You can't lose since these two versions are better anyway. See if this problem reoccurs. Wink

I still think they should bring up the limit. But I don't think anyone wants to deal with it. :<

Also the forums are quite slow, Is it a server issue?

Don't fret, the techs will look into the issue, as you can see the number 2400 - that mean's it's case 'problem' number 24
00, and will be fixed in due time, when it comes.

I haven't noticed any slowdowns?

....
This error where it says "Return to Index" occurs ONLY ON MY IP ADDRESS, my members are fine and I'm fine on a proxy or different computer.... and if I keep trying to get to the page, it gives me "Request Limit exceeded"

Well, don't know where I can ask the same question, because the topic you are refering to is locked:
http://help.forumotion.com/t104551-only-topic-topic-access-problem

I removed all cookies 5 times, but still have the problem 'you can return to the index'.

Sorry if I posted it in the wrong topic, but all topics about this problem are locked and it says 'solved'.
But it isn't solved.

Please help Confused

Edit: I think it's a problem with only Firefox? I've deleted all the cookies 5 times, but still problems.
But now I've tried with IE and no problem at all Confused
