That is why I am trying to go back to forum softwares. With all these reports of hacks, I don't feel safe. Especially with money involved.

Well the best way to avoid hacking is by using a paid hosting service. However, hacking cannot completely be avoided even with all hosting and the best hosting. I admit I once thought that Forumotion is hack-proof, the accusations and the proof are proving me wrong.

Just having a hosting service, does not mean your site becomes hackproof.

Well get a good anti-virus software, I think that will be the only way to find out.

Hello,

If your forum is infected with a virus it would infect the whole system within other forums. Forumotion job it to stop it by creating new ways beat it. You can't do much to stop a virus since you don't have access to the database.

The virus can be added by a user by adding a link or some sort of html code which will create a problem. If you do have a updated antivirus, it will detect any wrong actions you take.

Your site isn't infected. although some Bots are undetectable to virus software, it sure helps having it.
deleting the user will delete any pm's he /she posted. just delete anything else that was posted.
Disallowing html in a post helps, as well as utilizing the other security features offered.
It's probably the same jerk who attacked my site a few months ago. I had life size swinging "organs" posted.lol

New banner looks nice.. old was pretty killer too. Very Happy
