In progress Domain Move

Post by PK-Host December 10th 2011, 11:39 pm

Hello,

I am contacting you on behalf of another user on this forum. I wanted to know what would be needed in order to move the domain into their own account on GoDaddy, I would also like to know if its possible to export the data from the forum allowing it to be transferred.

Any information about these would be great,

Many Thanks
Pete

Hello,

If you're looking to obtain an external domain provider, please take a look at this topic
https://help.forumotion.com/t7021-redirect-an-extern-domain-name-that-you-own-to-your-board

Edit:
If you're looking to transfer the forumotion database (FM data) from your site to another provider, sorry it's not possible. Members are not given access to the database and you have already agreed to this when signing the ToS before forum creation Wink

The current situation is that the domain was purchased through forumotion. Due to wanting to change to vBulletin style forum the user is wanting to move to a new host and would therefore like to also move the domain.

Would the domain be able to be transferred to
a) another account on Godaddy which I believe the domain to be registered through or
b) transfered to another domain registrar completly?
