I am not sure if we can unless there is some sort of script to add for it,
Forumotion is just set up to show the quick reply,

I will have to check the other versions to, but for phpbb2 it's only set to show, or you can opt not to have it.

what forum did you see that on, is it a forumotion forum?

Already exists a script to something like fast reply. So, it can be done with javascript. I don't know, your forum is mytube...co.uk or in in the image?

kirk, the forum in that image is not a forumotion forum. Wink

yeah i figured there was a script for it, and thought i seen one here before,
And his forum is the mytube.

So yeah we need to find the script?

Mr BadHaxers2 wrote:EmperorAdam Go To Your Admin Panel>>General>>Messages and e-mails>>Configuration>>When U See This Allow Quick Reply : Turn It On Or Off

Yeah, what he is asking Mr BadHaxers2 is to not show the quick reply, and have a button for it instead, then when you click, it will drop down to add your message.

So we are going to have to find a script or create one..

I think rono may have something for this already? Not sure if it's him or not?
but i thought i seen something here for this very thing before?

I have phpbb3 and I have the "quick reply" turned off so it doesn't show. The reason is I see no practical use for it. Its just as easy to click "Post Reply".

Also, if its turned off that is less to load on the page.

I believe I wrote one a while back and it should be around.
When I'm at a computer If nobody has found it yet I'll write another one in this thread. It's relatively simple. Maybe someone will write one before I get back.

Phpbb2 is the worst though Razz

I believe EmperorAdam needs it for phpBB 2 since it says so in his profile field.

Put this in a Javascript file and tick 'in all topics'

Code:

$(function() {
var qr=document.getElementById('quick_reply');
qr.style.display="none";
$(qr).before('<div onclick="$(\'#quick_reply\').slideToggle();" class="toggleQR">Fast Reply</div><br><br>');
});

you can style the button in the CSS using the class name of 'toggleQR'
I'd recommend this:

Code:

.toggleQR {
float:left;
border:2px solid;
padding:3px;
border-radius:6px;
color:#105289;
font-weight:bold;
}
.toggleQR:hover { color: #C03; }

This should work in all forum versions, as i believe the quick reply has the same ID name in all versions.

Yes works fine for phpbb2 and should work for other versions too.

Put it in a Javascript File, tick 'in the topics' and put the CSS in the CSS.

Your problem is your using BBcode in the script. use HTML and it wil work fine, by using BBcode your crashing the script.

Yup... because you've still used incorrect HTML.
