Question about ads auto-placed on my forum
Hi, I just started a forum about a 1-2 days ago. It was basically started because I was a longtime member of another forum that was being shut down, and so a lot of us migrated to the new forum that I created, to continue posting there instead.
One of my other goals for putting the work in to create the site, other than having a new home to post, was the hope of getting ads placed on it eventually to generate some potential revenue.
Today I was very happy to wake up to various banner ads that were auto-placed across the top of the forum.
I hadn't even inquired about ads yet. And wasn't sure I would be able to get enough activity to get ads.
So I'm very glad they are there, but I also would like to know how I go about recieving my share of the revenue generated, if any?
I haven't signed up yet for any sort of ad account, or given any place for my revenue to be deposited, such as paypal, for example.
If anyone can give me some tips or directive how to go forward that'd be great. Thanks

Re: Question about ads auto-placed on my forum
Also, if possible I would prefer to just have 1 ad from 1 company, as opposed to a constant shuffling of various ads.
I hadn't mentioned to my users that I would be putting up any ads, and I don't want them to be turned off.
I think they would be OK with just 1 ad at the top. But when they are constantly cycling it can be kind of an annoyance.

Well, how does this all work, as far as receiving revenue?
Do ppl have to click on the ads for me get credit?

Yes, I think thats what I want.
Can I choose which of the ads I want as my banner?
There are a few different ones, but I'd to just have the 1 "built ford tough" ad as a 'still' ad

You need to pay to remove ads. Also, you can create in another place of your forum ads to your friend's forum.

Wow, I thought I was the one who got paid to put ads on my forum, lol.
So I have to pay them to remove them?
Is there a way I can at least move them to the bottom, so they aren't such a distraction?
Or just have one ad, instead of it cycling like that?
I think its turning off my users and they might leave altogether.

Hello,
The only option you have is to pay credits to remove them. You add your own adds if you like, but how you do them and where you add them is completely up to you.
However, again, the only way to rid of the Forumotion ads is to pay credits.

Nope. They're in one place. Since Forumotion is a free service they add ads.

Can someone explain how it works. How much would I have to pay?
And if I paid to remove them, could I then place them back myself, and then I would recieve the revenue?

Re: Question about ads auto-placed on my forum
It costs 2000 credits for 1 year.
When you remvoe them they dissapear, and will automatically come back in a year.
You'd have to add your own ads for revenue

I'm going to add that when you put your own ads on, revenue won't be "generated" directly to your credits.
You'll have to work a deal out with whatever advertiser that wishes to advertise on your forum. You can ask them to do a payment in whatever way works best with you, whether its directly through Paypals, or asking the would-be advertiser to use the Donate link on your site, etc.

Re: Question about ads auto-placed on my forum
Hello,
Let me clear things up first.
You will need to remove the Forumotion ad's before you add your own ad's. Depending on the ad host you pick you will pick an option for payback. You will need to find that information or ask depending on each ad host. Forumotion ad's won't get you any money, all the money from Forumotion ad's get sent to Forumotion to help keep up the cost of servers, employee's wages, software updates and much more.
