I don't believe there is a PHP variable for it since that isn't how the post profile fields are created on page load.

I think the only way to do it would be loading it with Ajax. Bit of a horrible thing to do though for such a small thing.
Maybe a creative cookie using method could do it. But can't think of one at the moment.

Well, I'm thinking it's in the templates. Try and play around with the templates and find the code. I'll try to look for it a little bit too.

That section is a Server Side Include. A repeating piece of PHP which adds the post profile fields.
The way to access it by javascript would be an Ajax call to the user profile page. Or grabbing t from the contents of an Iframe which source is the user profile.
