In progress Music widget?

Post by Soulmonster on January 16th 2012, 11:03 am

Hi,

Does anyone know of a radio widget that will not be interrupted as people navigate the forum (the music will not stop every time you go to a new thread/section)? I have tried a few but they stop each time I navigate anywhere.

Ideally the radio widget should allow playlists from members.

The only way to prevent interruptions would be to make a pop-out music player.
Even if you had a player in a widget and show through the whole forum it would still pause every time you click somewhere and the new page loads. So the only way around this would be to create a pop-out music player.

And for that you would have to explain in as much details as possible on what kind of player you want..

Okay, thanks. Then I know enough to start looking for a suitable player myself. Thank you very much.

Ok.

It would be best to place your music player on a html page, then take the html page link and add to what i have below.

Add your html page link, set the options as you want and it will generate the script for you.

I will leave this open just in case you have a problem or any other question with it. Smile be cause you can always add a image in place of the text title as well in the code.

I tried the pop up script and it works great. Much better to have the player hidden from the widget pane since it needs to be popped out to work anyway.

Now my mind has turned to finding the *best* radio player for my forum. I would like one that every member can use, where the members may search through genres, and ideally with a system so we can share playlists. Does such a player even exist?

Radio dot com is one of the best imo Cool
Options:
Music, News, Sports
by Name, Genre, Cities,
Create your own station,
Shows Tour Dates, Lyrics,
Toggle High or Low Bandwidth
Recalls the last station selected

(click)

You could use a button to popup the radio...
Here's one I use for the popup above:

Try it in a widget.....
Code:

<center><table style="background:black; border:gold 1px solid;  -moz-border-radius: 8px; -webkit-border-radius: 8px; padding:3px"><tr><td><center><font color="gold">Online Radio</font></center><a href="http://player.radio.com/player/RadioPlayer.php" target="_blank" onclick="window.open('http://player.radio.com/player/RadioPlayer.php', 'popup3','width=800,height=650,height=200,left=150,top=250,scrollbars=yes'); return false"><img src="http://i56.tinypic.com/9qlm46.gif" border="0" height="100" width="100" alt="Radio"></a></td></tr></table</center>
Spoiler:

Popup link without image & table
Code:
<a href="http://player.radio.com/player/RadioPlayer.php" target="_blank" onclick="window.open('http://player.radio.com/player/RadioPlayer.php', 'popup3','width=800,height=650,height=200,left=150,top=250,scrollbars=yes'); return false">Online Radio Player</a>

You could try running your own free station with Streamerp2p (it has chat):

Thanks for those suggestions, unfortunately that player is "unavailable from [my] location". I guess you have to be in the US...
