Solved "Glowing" names

Post by buddylee0927 on January 19th 2012, 3:04 pm

I have been messing with this code in regards to "Glowing" names.

a[href="/u1"]{
text-decoration: none !important;
text-shadow: 0 0 0.20em blue, 0 0 0.20em blue, 0 0 0.20em blue;
}

The code works but it's just a shadow making it appear to glow. Is there a way to make
it actually pulsate?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Use an background image than:

Code:
a[href="/u1"]{
text-decoration: none !important;
background: url("http://i45.servimg.com/u/f45/15/95/60/34/glitte10.gif");
}

I tried this and I don't see any change. Any ideas?

a[href="/u1"]{
text-decoration: none !important;
background: url("http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm104/buddylee0927/pulsing.gif");
text-shadow: 0 0 0.20em blue, 0 0 0.20em blue, 0 0 0.20em blue;
}

I also noticed that if I click on the profile link, where it says "Registration Information - View my profile" , the gif appears to be working
over the "View my profile" part, but not my name anywhere else on the forum...weird...

Are you sure you used the code right? Hmm, try with !important. Like:
Code:
a[href="/u1"]{
text-decoration: none !important;
background: url("http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm104/buddylee0927/pulsing.gif") !important;
text-shadow: 0 0 0.20em blue, 0 0 0.20em blue, 0 0 0.20em blue !important;
}

Did not work. It is still working under my profile link though. Do you think the name itself on the front page is too small to see the gif working?

Hi,

It's not to small as you'll see it's working here;

Nera
Please post your forum url and show me the code you are using and the name of the user you want the glitter to be applied to?

Hi,

Welcome to the Support forum Very Happy

For your question you need to open a new topic but here's an explanation:

To have colored names:
- users must be in groups
- Group must be ticked "Colorise group" in it's settings and must NOT be a hidden group
- & AP > Users and groups > Users options > Colorise usernames must be set to yes.

I copied and pasted and see no change. Here is what I have:

There are no comments around the scripting I need to work. Does having comments on the others make a difference?

The gif too is working for me but you wont notice it in the picture and that's not a good choice for a BG gif since it's height can't exeed names so it will be badly visable.

Remove all the comments and add the code. Than you can replace the link if you don't like how it looks.
