In progress User ban

Post by Orbis Globvli January 19th 2012, 10:10 pm

First topic message reminder :

A user of my forum: http://www.beadthrilled.com/ gets a ban notice while she has no (ip/email) ban nor has been put inactive.
I have given her a new userid and she can log in, but just not with her former userid. Could someone from outside be messing with my forum? Or the php codes?
It could now be only one user but I would be very unhappy seeing many more members ending up 'seeing' a ban.

In my case the Email address had a one-letter name part as well. That is, apparently any user is banned by the forum software whose Email has only one letter before the @. This could be the final explanation for the problem, easy to test for the staff. Note: this did not occur before January 19.

This problem i think is to do with something the tech's are doing for a update but it looks like it's making bigger problem than doing good.

The only thing to get this fixed is to change the email address and then Resynchronize your forum :
then clear the members cache
i can see us loosing lots of members if they think they are banned all the time
this really needs to be looked at by the techs
