Forum Deleted, Don't know by who?

A forum i'm an administrator on just disappeared, (http://federalistparty.forumotion.com/) and its linking to an old forum that isn't even forumotion. The admin team all got an email telling us that someone chose to delete it, and only the forum forum founder can recover. The IP doesnt match with any of the admin teams IPs, and we don't believe it could have been the founder. The email is this:

The administrator : Admin (Ip Address: xx.xx.xx.xxx) has chosen to delete the forum federalistparty.forumotion.com.
If he validates the deletion, the forum won't be available anymore.
The founder of the forum can restore it by going to this address :

Our forum founder has been absent for well over a year, although he does seem to have logged into the account once or twice since he last spoke with anyone. We never moved on getting the founder account because we've been able to do everything we want without it, and never expected to need it.

We're all pretty confused about what happened with our forum, but its certainly gone. We would really appreciate it if you can tell us what happened, we're all pretty baffled.

Have you tried contacting the founder to see if the founder deleted the forum?

http://federalistparty.2forum.biz/ is a dead forum, we used it before the forumotion forum that seems to be deleted now, and we don't know why we're being re-directed there. Its not even a forumotion forum.

We have tried contacting the founder, but no one has spoken with him in well over a year, our only contact info for him is the email he used for his account on federalistparty.forumotion.com and we think he only used that account for the forum, and doesnt check it anymore.

Seems like the founder deleted it. In that case its his/her choice to do so, even though they are gone. Not much that can be done. Sorry.

I was more familiar with the old forum (I was also an admin on the boards). I can't remember why we changed forums, but yes, both were on the forumotion platform (just the old one was before the uniform .forumotion.com domain was introduced). HOWEVER, we have repeatedly asked for admin access to be changed. None of the forum administrators had access to the account. Therefore, none of the admins "officially" endorsed the forum's deletion. In essence, we were hacked by someone who never handed the passwords over.

Well other admins will be sent that message.
So it sounds like if the Founder has been absent all this time and he just decided to delete the forum, And if he has been logged in over the last 6 months then you would not be able to ask for the founders account unless he was not logged in for 6 months.

However since he has decided to delete the forum then you would not be able to ask for the founders account now regardless of whether he was not logged in for 6 months or not.
I went to the link and the forum is still there and appears to be in maintenance mode, So don't seem that he has confirmed the boards deletion..

Whatever the case. It would be up to the forums founder for whatever he wants to do with it. I would try to contact him and see if he will hand the forum over to one of you other admins.. Then if not, Just create your own forum so you don't have to worry about any unpredictable Founders actions?

The thing was that we created a new temporary forum under the new name in some hopes that it might be able to be restored eventually.

We have been trying to contact him for YEARS regarding the founder. He's never responded.
