Mobile site not working

Post by rd on February 4th 2012, 10:51 pm

Am trying to access our forum on an iPhone and this is what it looks like -

When I click on the "classic version" it just remains on the same page.

When I click to a specific link within the forum, e.g., a reply to a thread, I get the homepage with the login, but can't log in. Have tried repeatedly and it just redirects to the login homepage again. And I am DEFINITELY using the correct login credentials.

Identical issues on iPad too.

You can see the forum here-

langers.forumotion.com

Help please? I'm the founder.

Not visible to guest. THey must log in first.

There are 2 admins and they're the only members. Setting only allows admin to view the threads.

If you make one forum that's visible to guests it will look different. The mobile version is still in beta, so there could be some bugs.

As for your login issue, not sure about that. Make absolute sure the credentials are correct.

Credentials are 100% correct. Tried to log in 5 times, nothing happens. I have the correct credentials. The other admin/member, logging in from the UK (i'm in US) is able to log in and use the forum via mobile.

As to the settings, I just changed some of the forums so they are visible to members, and the mobile home page still resolves to the screenshot I showed you above. Makes absolutely no sense at all. Didn't have this with a previous forum with forumotion.co.uk address which only permitted forum viewing to members. Don't see why that would be the issue. How is anyone supposed to log in if the home page is that grey screen with a blue link that doesn't work?

Any suggestions beyond "mobile site is buggy". Didn't have this with the previous uk based forum.

Thanks!

What do you mean by login details? I can't share my password with you. Are there settings I need to look at to make sure it's compatible with iphone/ipad/Safari browser? This was not an issue with our previous forum. The only difference was that it was UK based, forumotion.co.uk instead of forumotion.com. The UK admin is able to view the mobile site in the UK.

Thanks.

Trust me, I'm using the correct one. The same one I use to log in to the desktop version and it works there. Please don't insult my intelligence and tell me I'm using the wrong password. That's just rude.

And even if my password were wrong, that still doesn't explain why I get that grey screen with a link to the classic version that doesn't work, pictured in the first post in this thread. Are you able to explain that?

What screen do you get on your mobile when you go to langers.forumotion.com?

Thanks.

When,

I click on the ''Classic Version'' Takes me too the Log in Box.

I believe that you do not have anything visible to the guests.

Now i will create a Account. And try this myself.

Thanks. So you get the grey screen too? But when I click on classic it doesn't take me anywhere. It stays on that page. Reloads and remains on the grey screen.

If I go to a particular thread- e.g.,

http://langers.forumotion.com/t12p15-inception-memes#212

I get to the login screen but it won't accept my login info. Doesn't even say my password or user name is wrong. Just reloads the login page with the form fields blanked out.

THis is on an iphone and ipad btw. The UK member/admin is logging in on an iphone and has no issues.

It worked fine with me. I tried it with both, Ipad & iphone & Desktop.

How are you trying to log in

Just give me the Username. Nothing else.

Have you tried seeing if it happens to another Admin acc?

Thanks! Are you on ATT? Could it be an ATT issue?

As I said, the other Admin is in the UK and she has no problem logging in.

I believe that it doesn't have to do with anything with AT&T [i think thats what you meant]

Oh, alright then. Then i can't think of anything else. You can wait for more responses. I'm sorry, if you think i didn't help at all. But i've never had been crossed with a problem like this.
