Ways to make a VIP membership worth it? ...and a few more questions

Post by Jellydonut on February 15th 2012, 11:55 pm

On my forum, I have a VIP membership thing. But nobody wants it, since all it is in a new username color and a hidden forum. I have a few questions-
Does anyone have any suggestions to make a VIP membership worth getting? It doesn't cost money on my site, just forum points.
Is there a way to make it so a member can spend their forum points just by clicking a button? When someone wants to buy the VIP membership or a graphic, I have to manually remove the berry bucks (that's what we call them) off their account.
What are some other things I can offer that people can buy with their berry bucks?
Is there a way to give specific users different accesses without making a new group?

Thanks to anyone who helps (:
And sorry for the lot of questions, I put them all on one thread because it would be less spammy and all the questions are about the same thing.

For the V.I.P Membership, you could make the chatbox be just for them and the staff.

Good idea!
I thought you could only have 1 chat box though
How do you add another one?

You only have one, so the regular members of your forum would not be able to view it. Perhaps that would motivate them to buy the V.I.P. Membership!

How about a customized VIP avatar + more Gallery space? or limit the chatbox for regular member and extend it for VIP members, not sure if that is even possible.

Idk how to do some of that stuff. And I really need to keep my chatbox for all members.
Maybe a badge, a username color change... but that isn't all that great

Hmm.... I have a got of ideas, this includes some mentioned above, let's see what I have in my magic hat. Smile

First, a member which is part of the VIP/Premium Membership can have a custom rank that is entitled VIP Member, a custom group and custom username color that will stand out from staff and regular members. Perhaps, a private forum section, where an exclusive lounge and other forums for the VIP members to only have access to. A custom arcade that you can take the time to design with exclusive classics and other games like Pacman, Racing, and Shooting Games.

Faster Forum Support and Help may also be a good idea for the VIP memberships, VIP Members should have the ability to get faster support. More points can be given for each forum action instead of how many a regular forum member gets. These are just some ideas, for a VIP membership their is endless possibilities. Wink

Well here are a few ways, the first two ways are given by community members of Forumotion. For the first way go to this tutorial: Flash Arcade v1.0. The next way is the way I would recommend much easier and fast to do:

The second thread has links to plenty of sites which their goal is flash gaming. Anyways, it is simple just do it in an HTML Page, for this expertise on HTML is needed, if you wish to learn go here: w3 Schools
