Solved Registration Email Invalid

Post by aowlthd on February 17th 2012, 3:12 pm

I have users trying to register on our forum but it will not let them stating: "This email address is invalid", even when the address is valid. What can I do to correct this?

Hi,

This is caused an anti-spam system. You can deactivate it via: Admin panel >> General > Security > Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. = No & save

Hi Darren,

Weird, that setting should cater for both Emails and Usernames?
Can you post the domain of the address used? For example, @hotmail.com.au or @Yahoo.com

Thanks for that.
I can't seem to find a work around, in any situation TT

Unfortunately, it seems like the anti-spam system has once again, got it wrong lol.
You will have to wait until one of my colleagues comes online to report the issue to the techs/developers to put the email in an exclusion list, if one exists..?

Well thanks for all your effort. I hope someone can fix this problem for us. Can you ask someone else to look into this for me?

Thanks again!

Hello ! Hello

You have several users which can't register ?
They all have this type of email address : @sbcglobal.net ?

Edit : I've tried, it has nothing to do with @sbcglobal.net Very Happy
I suggest that your user try to register with another email address, because our security system doesn't allow email address that seems to be false or that may not exist

Ok, well it is a valid email address and quite a few people use it...

Anyway, I had them create new email address and that is what they used to sign up.

Thanks for the help.
