Add the widget code to an announcement.

Do you have HTML activated for the whole forum?
Administration Panel > General > Messages & Emails > Configuration
Allow HTML: Yes

Who do you not want to see it? your members?
Just untick the 'members' box on the widget permissions?

Widgets have far clearer and better permissions than announcements.

I think thats is easyier .
Admin Panel -> Modules -> Forum Widget Menagment

And here you can change who can see that widget! Smile

I use that way to hide widgets form guests. GL
