Topic Color change without changing main page color?(Solved)

I have searched and and read but did not find anything that actual covered what I am trying to do.
I am sorry if this something that was over covered. Forgive me if it is.

this is what I am trying to do.
I want to keep one color on my main page but have another color in my Topic post.

screen shots to help explain my thoughts.


in this shot the main color is a cream yellow. but the topics are white.
would like them to be the same color as the cream yellow



in this shot the post is white I want it to stay white.

How can I do this?. I have not really worked with CSS Styles so this is all new to me.
