Solved Nav Bar Links & Picuters

Post by SRT_4_88 on March 16th 2012, 5:58 pm

I've been searching for a week now and not finding what I'm looking for but I'm sure I'm not the first to ask, so sorry in advance if this has been posted.

I'm trying to edit the "Nav Links". I have the picutres I'm wanting to use but want text to be next to them (expample bellow). Along with this I would like to remove a couple of them. Now I tried using the CCS code (also bellow) proveded in a different post but it wouldn't work.

Home Forums Calender

(Side note could someone make the flag smaller without losing quality? If so I have another picture I'd like made smaller otherwise I can deal with it lol)

Code:
<script>
(function (){
var n="i_icon_mini_";

if(document.getElementById(n+'search')){
  document.getElementById(n+'search').parentNode.innerHTML="New Text"; }

})();
</script>

The post sd to edit where it says "search" with the name of what your changing (example: index) and place what your wanting people to see in the spot where it says "new text".

Thank you in advance

I followed instructions from:
http://help.forumotion.com/t106155-navbar-buttons

ended up with:
Code:

<ul>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com
">Portal</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/forum
">Forum</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/calendar
">Events</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/memberlist
">Users</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/groups
"> Hierarch</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/profile?mode=editprofile">Profile</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/privmsg?folder=inbox">Messages</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/logout">Log Out</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/register">Register</a></li>
<li><a href="http://eoovc.forumotion.com/login">Log In</a></li>
</ul>

EDIT::

Or could It be made with these buttons? (already in order)

Code:

Home:
http://hitskin.com/themes/16/36/32/i_icon_mini_index.png
Portal:
http://hitskin.com/themes/16/36/32/i_icon_mini_portal.png

Log In:

I know to replace pictures in "Display" > "Homepage" > "Headers & Navigation" but it won't let me delete or edit any of them unless I go to "Display" > "Pictures and Collors" > "Pics Management" but I'm only able to edit what picture shows and not delete or edit what text shows. I'll keep playing around but would love for a little help on it.

Thanks in advance.

Solved Re: Nav Bar Links & Picuters

Post by Guest on March 18th 2012, 8:41 am

Hi!

The code you provided above is a JavaScript code, not a CSS. I don't know why you use that, but the code can be added to Administration Panel => Modules => HTML & JAVASCRIPT => JavaScript codes management. Don't forget to enable javascript codes, you have a option there. More read here:
http://help.forumotion.com/t92693-new-update-javascript-code-management

If that code doesn't works, you can try the method below...
Go to Administration Panel => Display => Homepage => Headers & Navigation => Page headers => Display only images in the navbar : No. Save.
Then, you can put the pictures/icons for the navbar buttons from here: Administration Panel => Display => Pictures and Colors => Pics management => Advanced Mode => General / explore. Here you'll have to put the links to icons. After Vote bar - Right you'll have the navbar buttons. Smile
