In progress Stationary navigation bar

Post by ℋunni on March 25th 2012, 6:52 am

Running: Invision!

I'd like for the navbar on my site to constantly remain above the forum itself and stay at the top.
So if you scroll, the navbar is still 'stickied' to the top of the site.

Hi Hunny,

You can do it with:

Code:
position: fixed;
top: 0px;

under the correct selector. If you don't know wich one is it please post your forum link.

Got it! Thank you so much Nera!

I had a much smaller question that's irrelevant to this topic, but it does pertain to coding, if you wouldn't mind answering it; I can always make a new topic. My question was that at the bottom of my site, the footer bar extends all the way to the end of the site, which means the coding is off somewhere. I located WHERE the coding is off, but I can't seem to find the problem within the coding. Any idea?

Code:
<div style="z-index: 10000; position: fixed; top: 0px; left: 0px;"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/UPozt.png" border="0" alt="ANAMNESIS" /></div><div style="z-index: 10000; position: fixed; top: 25px; left: 247px;"><div style="box-shadow: 3px 3px 4px #0e0e0e;"><div id="avic"></div></div></div><div style="z-index: 10000; position: fixed; top: 145px; left: 222px; text-align: center; font-family: MS Gothic; font-size: 10px; letter-spacing: 0.5px; line-height: 10px; color: #501e17; width: 150px; text-transform: uppercase;">Welcome back, Using php in posts is called being a smart [Language]... You're talking about your footer links or? Forum url is? I don't see any problem with the code you posted if you are talking about it? Just tried it, it looks fine to me.

If you scroll down, for some reason, it's extending past what it should normally be in width-size.

It could be the browser you are using, because it looks fine using Internet Explorer 8.

Do you mean that the navigation menu is extended too far to the right?

Just dusted off the cobwebs from my IE and checked it; it's working fine there. The side banner is cut off far earlier. I checked it with Chrome, it's still over-extended, as in Firefox, I've yet to try anything with Opera. Should I try clearing my cache?

Edit: cleared cache and nothing.

ℋunni, Maybe you should explain with a screenshot about where your problem is.
