Solved Profile Problems

Post by XDirect12345 on March 30th 2012, 3:29 am

The contact us button I made is not aligned with the other navigation, when I go to "profile". I tried force nav to remain on one line and vise versa but nothing happens. You can register, and log in and see for yourselves what I mean and try and help me solve this problem.

Here is the javascript:
Code:
$(function(){
$('a.mainmenu:last').after('<a href="http://www.wix.com/andromedavadum/xdirect12345contactus" class="mainmenu contactuslink"> </a>');
});

Here is the CSS:
Code:
/* Contact Us Button */
.contactuslink {
display: inline-block;
padding: 0px;
width: 172px; height: 50px;
background: url(http://i44.servimg.com/u/f44/17/04/47/55/th/nfs_th11.png) no-repeat;
}

.contactuslink:hover {
display: inline-block;
padding: 0px;
width: 172px; height: 50px;
background: url(http://i44.servimg.com/u/f44/17/04/47/55/th/nfs_th11.png) no-repeat;
}

I think it is fine for everything else, if I can just get some javascript for the profile section that would be great.

What about trying to insert it in the middle of the navbar, put this in an announcement:
Code:

<script>
jQuery('#search').after('<a href="http://www.wix.com/andromedavadum/xdirect12345contactus" class="mainmenu contactuslink"></a>');
</script>

I could also be caused by the fact that your new button has a fixed width, while the others dont.

Maybe I can create a fading pop up like what you have on your forum's top right hand corner, only to act as a contact us icon or something.

the default box in the top corner on my forum is HTML in a widget, and put up there with css.

HTML:
Code:

<div class="toprightbox">
contact stuff
</div>

CSS:
Code:

.toprightbox {
  position: absolute;
  top: 10px; right: 10px;
  background: #e1ebf2;
  padding: 10px;
}

Change the HTML to this:
Code:

<div class="toprightbox" style="display:none">
contact stuff
</div>
<script>setTimeout(function(){jQuery('.toprightbox').fadeIn()},3000)</script>

Add this inside the div:
<span onclick="jQuery(this.parentNode).fadeOut()">Close</span>

Put it in the corner with CSS, and include an red cross image in the span or as a background image or something.
