Moderator Creation
Hi there
Forum: SubaruPassion
when I created the forum, there was no Moderator option for users, only admin or user. How do I create a moderator? The reason I ask is because, my 2 moderators, which are part of the moderators group that I created, can't write Stickies, or announcements. The other reason is that The don't have the icon that I have assigned to Moderators, showing under their usernames
I'd appreciate the help please thanks
vince

Hello,
For adding moderators, please take a look at this tutorial:
https://help.forumotion.com/t16012-designate-moderators
And for them to post sticky, announcement and global messages, make sure that the moderator group is check for special messages permissions in each forum:
Admin Panel > General > Categories and Forums > Permissions > Check the 'Special Messages' for Moderator groups > save

Thank you Jophy, i'll check this out now. I I don't get back to you its sorted. Thanks again
What about the icon under their username. For example, as admin I have an icon under my username with word Administrator under it. I tried the same with the mods, but the icons don't appear

Re: Moderator Creation
You have to create a moderator rank and add an image, then you have to go the moderators' profiles in the administration panel and add the moderator rank to them for the rank and image to appear.

Re: Moderator Creation
OK it worked jophy. the only 2 little annoying things, are;
1. that i can't assign them the moderator icon that should appear under their username on the left of posts. I've managed this for admin but not moderators. this would let members know they are moderator
2. Their name does not change colour like on the legend at the bottom of the forum page
Those 2 things aren't emergenciies but Iwould like to get them right at some point
cheers
vince
PS Sorry I didn't see you last post I'll check this out also thank you

Re: Moderator Creation
Hello,
1. Create a rank and make sure it's a special rank, after that, you can assign the rank by searching the user or the moderator on your admin panel via 'Search Users' and click the moderator's profile, scroll to the bottom and modify the 'rank title', you can assign the special rank then save.
2. Make sure that the group is colored (Users & Groups > Group Administration > Modify the mod group > Make sure that the box for 'color group members' is checked and make sure it's a closed group)
