Solved Blacklist Problem

Post by !_NICK_! on April 13th 2012, 12:18 am

Leeloo, I'm not even sure why my name is on the Blacklist because I've not done anything, must be someone else, but will you remove "Nick" under usernames because I like using that name and can't because it's blocked.

Hello,

Do you mean the username 'Nick' can't be used on our forums because it's included on our anti spam username system?

I don't think Leeloo will remove it. You can just choose to change the setting for your forum. For other forums, there is no other way but to have a different username.

I don't see why not, she has been everyone else's.

Will you have Leeloo to come here in this topic Sanket?

Hi,

The system goes off a combination of your username & email address, has anything happened with your email lately, such as a large increase of spam?

Trust that our devs do not personally make this list, it is from several reliable places, such as Google, Microsoft (They now own Yahoo! too) and Stop Forum Spam, so it is no coincidence that this is an occurrence.

Leeloo may be able to remove it, but it may only be a temporary removal as they system updates it's self, so the block may be over ridden by the other companies details.

Hello,

I only removed the username for people who are personnally blacklisted, when they get the error about suspicious activity with their account.

According to what you're saying, it seems that the username Nick is commonly used by spammers, so I can't remove it. If the system don't allow you to register with this username, then just chose another one.

Thank you Smile

Hello,
Of course the username "Nick" will be blocked as Leeloo stated above. Or....
What do you mean? Can you explain further?

Hi Nick,

Unfortunately, because those letters are the most common in spam bots, or legit spamming people, the systems won't be able to remove then, I don't think there's anything Leeloo can do, as the system wont let her remove the name, as said above.
All you can do is either try a different email (The system runs on *BOTH* Emails & Names), and if it is still rejecting, then all you can do is try another name.

There's simply nothing else you can do, I'm sorry.
