Nothing is ever 100% hacker proof.. lol if people can get in to goverment computers then anything could potentially be hacked.

However there is some good news, If someones forumotion forum is indeed hacked, they can restore it through utilities like Slg has suggested doing in the link he provided above.
If that fails, then a pro admin can fully restore the forum.

mrben try what slg has suggested, then if not we are going to need more information on what happened and link to your forum, Be sure to always check your forums security logs to be sure it is not another admin that may have changed,altered or deleted things as well

Anything can potentially be hacked but to be honest, the cases of "hack" with Forumotion's forums are always due to passwords or phishing of email addresses, so it's really important to be careful with your login.

Then, I've seen that you restored the forum ? So your problem's solved ?
One of your admins was responsible of the removal, you can check that in your admin panel.
Be careful with your admin permissions.
