In progress keep receiving abuses

Post by Flappypaddles April 30th 2012, 8:54 am

I keep having my site reported for abuses by an ex member that was banned for inappropriate behaviour several times and he now seems to be conducting a campaign against the site by posting abuses to forumotion. However there seems to be no way to counter the claims he ,makes in the abuses on the admin panel.
what exactly happens when abuse reports arrive at forumotion and how can admins defend themselves against those that are doing it to get revenge for being banned.

the annoying thing is there is no way to counter the accusations in the admin panel.

I presume becasue I have not heard anything further that forumotion is not interested

Hello,

When a guest sends reports by the 'report an abuse' link, it is sent on your admin panel not to Forumotion/litigation staff, all you have to do is move it to 'done abuses' and no harm's done on your forum Wink

that's good to know. I suppose there is no way to stop people doing so to cause trouble?

Hi,

No, there is no legal way of preventing it from occurring. Sorry.

May i ask why we have this useless feature? If reported abuses can only be seen by the Administrator of a forum and not sent to the forum provider, it then has no use what so ever other than disgruntled or banned members slinging crap at the forum administrator. If a banned member thinks he's been banned unjustly, then he / she can contact the forum Admin via email.

Hey Efbe,

The reason for that is so that if a passer by, or a guest, sees something (s)he doesn't like, or thinks disrespects any laws or rules, thy can inform the admin, before taking legal action.
Just like in law, you mediate, talk between one another, before u go before a magistrate, or judge Wink
